Pictures of the new kit are here - http://www.morecambefc.com/newsarticle. ... m=&ucat=1&

When I went into the club shop the other day, the lady there said the new kit would be in 'the first couple of weeks of July', or so she'd been told.

Spot on not a lot. However there a number of clubs who use high street sport stores to distribute there kit's. this works in a number of ways for both parties. All the money goes in the same direction however the stores offer some space.
This benefits the club as its easier to get to. So how does it benefit the store? Most major company now offer or take part in "Community" activities. this can been seen as good marketing to show that the company cares. What it also does is get people in the door. Someone goes in to buy the new Morecambe tops. then looks at new trainers, boots.

Now isnt there a new JJB store opening soon?

Is the club still looking for a Marketing manager? I fancy that job!

I wolud hope we will have a bigger and better club shop at the new ground (when it happens)

It would be nice if our local sports stores such as JJB did stock our kit ! cant see it happening though. not current kit anyway

Can't see any store in town actually selling the new kit BUT as an alternative and to promote the 'new' on-line store maybe a store in the Arndale would put on a display in one of their windows for a period of time.

Would ASDA and Carnforth's Tesco co-operate as they already advertise the home games?

Never mind the big companies, if morecambe fc approached my mothers company and asked if they could put a display in her shop window on lancaster road, i am sure she would do. she already washes the kit for the kids team.

even if it were just a large poster with pictures and other details

The club used to sell shirts at selected local shops with known affiliations with the football club in the down (Fretwells butchers with its obvious connections being one, though a meat smelling shirt didn't exactly fly off the shelf).

Regarding high street sports stores selling MFC goods, I was shocked and delighted to see an entire stand of Morecambe FC umbro shorts at £5 a piece stocked at the JJB sports in Lancaster upon my latest visit back to the red rose county. So much so that I bought two pairs.
