Sounds like a nightmare at Gills

3-0 after 30 minutes.

Listening to the game on Morecambe World it sounds as though we had an opening 20 minutes when we looked good, but then the defence collapsed.

gills are playing the ball on the floor wjilst we are playing the long high ball (what a suprise!)

Ockers is suggesting that we are too predictable with our free kicks....

Quinny and Ockers have agreed that this is th worst period of play by us this season.

Defence is too slow. Midfield not closing down.

In other words we are having a bloody nightmare....

Sort it out.....!!!!!!

....another free kick to us...both Quinny and Ockers guess correctly where it's going to.....far post...defence clears.

Do we not know how to vary the free kicks?

Gaps appear to be oponeing up in both the defence and midfield.

Now it's 4-0

This is getting a bloody joke.

Artell to blame.

Quote Ockers 'it's a comedy of errors!'....and 'worst display since McLlroy came!'...

Now it's 5-0

Ockers says that again we've been beaten by pace.....YET AGAIN!

....and Ockers thinks that 'we may have caught them on a good day....   '

At least it sounds as though young Taylor is playing for a starting place next week alongside Howe. Oh well that's a positive......

Team selection next week?

And those around us are winning:

Accy 2 Bradford 1
Grimsby 1 Wycombe 0
Shrewsbury 0 Port Vale 1
Macclesfield 3 Aldershot 1

It's a bleak day!

The live league table has us 19th which means we are the 3rd worst team in the league based on results and I can see Grimsby going on a good run now Mike Newell is there.

Edit - Accy have just collopased and gone 3v2 down so were up to 18th

The thing is t just sounds like normal no pace in the defence and a midfield that doesn't close down nothing really new. For me the midfield not closing down has been an issue ever since we arrived in the league.

We have to take solace in the fact that Accrington have surrendered a 2-0 lead to go 3-2 down and Grimsby have been pulled back to 1-1.

Small comfort, but it's any crumb we can grab right now!

Those last couple of minuites just went our way, grimsby will be sick a 90th minuite equaliser and Coley must be pulling his hair out (if he had any) at Accy.

And to cap it all, ITV have the England games and David Pleat's co-commentating.

Can things get any worse?

Sammy on Radio Lancs. "Defensively we were a shambles", "with the ball we were fine but without it, awful", "when we lost the ball we didn't work hard enough to get it back", "it was too easy", "We've got to work on the ugly side of football, in defence".

But even if we were defensively fantastic, we still can't score! How about accepting we aren't ever going to be keeping clean sheets and work on us actually scoring a few? Play unattractive football and be successful or play attractive football but stop playing unattractive, unsuccessful football.

...unfortunately Sammy's and Mark's record as NI manager wasn't that impressive when it comes to scoring goals.

we've scored ten goals in ten games. Gillingham scored five goals in their last game...

Brentford have also scored ten, but they've only conceded three, we've conceded 18.

Only two teams have scored less than us (Barnet & Grimsby, both scored against us though).

So with only two teams out of 24 scoring less than us, yes, I'd say we have a problem scoring.
