Evening all. Just sat at Wozza’s (my mechanic) house in Morecambe, having a brew, waiting to get a ferry to the Isle of Man for the Southern 100.

From Guy Martin's blog. Must be something in the water in the town. Shame Mr McG doesn't do the Southern 100. It's an awesome race to watch. Anyone fancy a day trip on Thursday? Leave Heysham 02:15hrs, watch the racing, return 19:45hrs, getting in at 23:15hrs. £22 to the Steam Packet and you can bring a picnic!

Great day yesterday after far too much beer the night before! Cheers Keith! Just about dried out!

Hope all the guys that crashed are recovering.

The sight of all those sidecars coming round that corner at once is something I will never forget!

Also the sight of that bike with its front forks and front wheel ripped off!

I still cant decide whether they are brave or mad!

Good to see that you (Keith) have finally seen sense and purchased a shiny new Triumph - we'll have another race back from Kidderminster or Hereford (can't remember which game it was).

How about a 'Magic Convoy'? It has been mentioned in the past, going to an away game on bikes. How about Lincoln away, Sat 27th September? Go down, stay over, then come back on Sunday via Matlock for lunch. Ride through the Peak District on the return. It's not too far for those who prefer to end the journey sat in a bright yellow van or those of us with tender behinds and little padding where the seat should be...

Last year we rode down to Spain over the Pyrenees, the previoius year over the Alps into Italy.
This year Lincoln over the Peak District - I'll not knock it, its a good ride, but definitley not too far ....

Ive done Assen for the TT, and Le Mans on the duke without the need for aid!

Could be persuaded to do a run but am at a wedding that weekend!

All three competitors injured during incidents at yesterday's racing at the Southern 100 meeting are said to be comfortable in Nobles Hospital.

Victor Gilmore crashed into a stone wall on the approach to Ballakeighan during the Solo Championship Race. He has a broken ankle and heel.

The Sidecar Championship Race was also red-flagged after an opening lap collision involving three outfits just before Cross Four-ways.

Two drivers were taken to hospital - John Holden has hand injuries and Greg Lambert is being kept in for observations.

So good news there then.

there was a scooter rally here on the Isle last week. It was like TT with hairdriers!

Yes Dave the "too far" was a reference to the other Dave's ability to breakdown, pick up a puncture, break down... He certainly gets good value out of the AA!

RD250/350LCs. Bloody hell that takes me back.

About 5 years ago I took my CBR (my first one) to be serviced and the only courtesy bike they had left was a 350 LC. "Fantastic i'll have that" I said. What a piece of junk it was compared to the CBR. It was slow, noisy and didn't handle very well. Mind you, it was 20 years old. And to cap it all, a few miles down the road it out of petrol (silly me expecting it to have more than an egg cup full of petrol in it). No problem i'll just put it on reserve. Guess what. That's right. It was already on reserve. Oh poo I thought.

So my last experience on an LC was not pleasant.

I think your LC experience is probably worse though Mick.

I went to too many funerals when younger, all bike related.

I must point out that I was never actually kicked off.
Most just taking the piss, I knew them all.
Not the most stable of two wheeled transportation, I got used to keeping my balance (through trial and error ).

and after that I was heading down the prom and got as far as the Ranch house when the scooter weekend was on and he ran out in front of me trying to impress his Trojan scooter club mates and all the hoards from elsewhere
