2 clubs

Hopefully Blackpool go down, along with Birmingham. I can see Wigan getting a point which Birmingham won't.

Blackpool have been a breath of fresh air in the Premier League, everytime they play it's like a cup final. I suspect most neutrals will be hoping that they stay up. Seasiders stick together.....lets all laugh at Preston!

Birmingham I'm indifferent towards.

There's only one team in Wigan, and Ellery Hanley palyed for them.

Blackburn are quickly turning into a joke, it started with selling the club to some chicken farmers and then was soon followed by the sacking of big Sam.

I hope Blackpool stay up to be honest, and i agree with you on the sacking of Allardyce. But there was a report on Granada news not too long ago about what they actually do in India, and it shows their heart is in the right place.

Man Utd 1-1 Blackpool
Stoke 0-0 Wigan
Tottenham 0-0 Birmingham
Wolves 0-3 Blackburn

AS IT STANDS:
15 Blackburn 38 -11 43
16 Birmingham 38 -20 40
17 Blackpool 38 -21 40
--------------------------------
18 Wolves 38 -22 40
19 Wigan 38 -22 40
20 West Ham 38 -25 33

Would'nt of said that at the start of the day!

Blackpool now 2-2 at Old Trafford
Wolves getting battered by Blackburn Rovers 0-3 but only need to pull a goal back to be level on goal difference with Blackpool. Who has scored most?

About 15 minutes left, West Ham, Birmingham & Wigan to go down.

It's all very tight!

Just as well, Wolves 1 Blackburn 3, so same GD now. Still Wigan, Birmingham & WH for the drop but another goal for United would put Blackpool down, another goal for Wolves will lift them above Blackpool and a goal for Wigan would take them out of the relegation zone.

OOPS, as a typed, Man U 3 Blackpool 2

Poor Blackpool, they certainly gave their fans hope for a while. And while I've never had any feelings for Birmingham one way or the other, I really feel for them today. A 90th minute goal by Spurs to send them down, how awful must that be for their fans?

Dunno, I have yet to meet one.

Shows the value of having a goalscorer in your team. Birmingham couldn't manage one goal a game

The fact that it was Wolves who survived just rubs salt into the wound for the Birmingham fans.

Blackpool might end up in the Europa League next season. They are top of the Fair Play table.

That is behind as Fulham now have a red card AND on the other stats says Blackburn have socred 36 but actually they have scored 46

Birmingham are in the Europa for winning the Carling Cup. Presume someone else has won a trophy and got relegated in the same season

Norwich City won the league cup in '85 and went down, beating Sunderland in the final who were also relegated during the same season.

There can't have been many teams that have featured in Europe whilst not in the Old First Division/Premier League (aside from the Anglo-Italian cup). Millwall (appeared in the UEFA cup as losing FA Cup finalists to double-winning Manchester United), Ipswich (Fairplay) and Crystal Palace (Intertoto cup representatives despite being relegated because every other side gave the competition the middle-finger) spring to mind.
