Was speaking to him sat night and he seems a quality bloke and at times has showed some real nice bits of play since coming in and I wouldn't mind him getting a contract.

Sadly I can hardly remember anything I said to him and was in full drunken rambling mode  so god knows what I was going on about, anyway he still pretended to care about what I was saying which was jolly nice of him and I would like to appologise for wasting his time.

Spoke to his parents at Northampton, he was very much here to play for a contract.

after what he's been through in the last 2yrs with injury he certainly will be wanting first team football

and to be right we need somebody like him in the middle since we have been in L2 there as only really been Carl Baker and briefly Ian Craney who have been able to thread good forward balls to feed the strikers

One of the few players brought in this season who looks committed to the Morecambe cause. Good player as well - I'd give him a contract.

I am not sure about Hurst. He looks the part and in glimpses showed that he could be a good player for the club. I just felt that he drifted in and out of games, backed out of the 50/50's, lacked a yard of pace and he didnt look comfortable on the wing. Maybe I am being harsh as he was played out of position in a struggling team that rarely used any width and under new guidance could be a useful signing.

He looked a better player in the middle where he could use his passing ability as Hunter and Drummond are not the answer in the middle of the park. We need someone to can create chances.

Some quotes today from said player :

PN

And what now for you? Obviously you spent the back end of the season on loan at Morecambe, is there a chance you may be joining the club full time in the summer? Where does the immediate future lie for you?

KH

I am not sure to be honest, I am just sitting down with my agent speaking to clubs and I have just got to see what happens really. I am not saying that I am going to go here or saying that I am going to go there, I am just waiting to see what happens and then when it does happen everyone will obviously know where I am. At this stage it is unclear but I had a good time at Morecambe and I appreciate that, but you never know, I don't know what is going to be happening.

PN

Ideally would you like to be still playing at a higher level than League Two?

KH

Yeah, I think I can play at a higher level. I have played all my career at League One and the Championship, I had a Championship season at Scunthorpe so I think I can play definitely at League One. But, obviously, I have got to get the opportunity to play at League One again, so hopefully I will and hopefully you will see me next season.
