Chris Wraighte

What a way to treat a young prospect....

Chris was all lined up to come on as a sub having had his instructions given to him by the manager; only to find after the usual warm up that he wasn't going to feature after all.
Looked absolutely gutted at the end of the game and who could have blamed him.

And what did our manager do? Completely ignored Chris with no explanation as to why he was given instructions then to find out he wasn't to come on.

Todays game irrespective of the result was the perfect match to see how Chris did. Says a lot about the managers attitude toward young 'home grown' talent.

Wonder how SMc would have felt all those years ago when he was 17 and given a chance if he ended up having been told to warm up only to not be used?

Poor lad looked gutted, but when McCready got injured Sammy had to change the substitution. I'm sure the lad understands that the team comes first.

Where do you sit?

There was no communication whatsoever between the two of them. And it's not only me that noticed that.

So bollocks ET!

Spent early evening with some people who know this lad and Cowps VERY well ( and some members of the board). He wont be arsed as disappointing as it was. But he is one to look out for
as long as the management are arsed, which I doubt.....Ok back to Alberts... :P

I'm afraid there was definitely a long conversation between the 2 of them.

Wrong.
There WAS a long conversation as the manager was giving him final instructions but then he was told to go for ANOTHER warm up. Came back to the dug out, was completely ignored by both manager and assistant and sat down at the back of the players area.

Spoke to Chris tonight. Yes he was gutted but is man enough to realise he will wait for his chance and take it when it comes along. Niall won reserves P.O.Year

the way our dugouts and posh seats are situated, gives people who paid an extra 30 quid a year close proximity to the manager, the impression they are management team members, MFC are football midgets, the people in these padded seats, and the newly self appointed boss of the fans, should be in padded cells :!:

CC you are talking bollocks again in an attempt to discredit the King.

I think it is clear to most people with half a brain that Wraighte was due to come on, then Chris McCready got injurued and his plans changed. Wraighte's "warm-up" after the injury was half arsed and pathetic, looked like a warm-down to me by which point he had probably already been told he wasn't coming on.

Anyway, if it was or it wasn't it is besides the point. Sammy need not explain his decisions to anybody, nor take 5 minutes out of the game to ellaborate on his plans that are no longer coming to fruition when it is clear for all to see. We were trying to get back into the game at this point, but don't let it get in the way of your non-story.

I was going to say the same, he'd warmed up, things changed, so warmed-down. None story for me other than disappointing for the lad.

Pathetic post.

I was gutted for Wraighte, I think he has played well for the reserves so it is a shame that an injury stopped him getting a first team appearance.

This is getting beyond a joke now CC, you have no reason to be so negative about Sammy's youth policy. Chris Wraighte and Niall Cowperthwaite are good, promising players and I think the majority of the members of this messageboard are sick of hearing otherwise.
