Next season (travel) Mileage!!!

From the teams coming down
Dag & Red
Bristol R
Plymouth
Swindon

2050 Total Miles

possible coming up from conf
Crawley and Wimbledon

1085 Total Miles.

If Luton come up instead of Wimbledon total miles will be 1002

Potential of 3135 and that's only from those coming into our league, League 2 will be prominently a southern league 11/12 season, so I think attendances next season could be very dismal!!

Don't forget to adjust the mileage for the departing teams.

But each only have to venture to Morecambe once.
Whereas Morecambe have a long trek practically every other week.
It'll be a long one.
Can't afford to wait until November to start winning.

I have a mate who's a Swindon season ticket-holder and will take us there.
Plymouth sounds like a great 'magic bus' weekender destination and Bristol (or more like, Bath) will be a family Travelodge weekend. Happy days!

Well worth making a weekend of it. Crap town centre, but The Hoe and Barbican are great[/quote]

When we played Swindon in the FA Cup all those years ago, I wonder if any of us thought we'd be playing them in the league eventually?

I don't think Plymouth Argyle ever thought they'd be playing Morecambe either!

Sod the mileage, there are some decent looking away days there.

Daggers - Our old friends and my sister lives round the corner. Hopefully Frogget will give it one more season
Bristol Rovers - nice city. Good for a weekend. Got a mate who lives there too
Plymouth - Big club. Big ground. Hopefully get a trip to Devon for late summer or spring time.
Swindon - Magic round-a-bout. Can stay over at my mate who lives in Oxford!
Crawley - Not much down there but at least I can stay at my mates in Croydon...
Wimbledon - Crazy gang rising from the ashes of having their club nicked from them from MK Dons. Weekend in London?
Luton - Eric Morecambe day?

Don't think the away crowds will be that much different as for most of these teams it will be their first trip to Morecambe and/or the Globe Arena

Why not? It isn't that long ago that they occupied the bottom rung of the football league, at which point we were a top half conference club.

For what it's worth I quite like the fact that there are plenty of new grounds to go to next season. The extra distance means more tins ahoy, gutted!!! 8-)

And it's even more recent that they sat happily in mid-Championship, while shrimps were in the top half of the Conference.

They should give us free travel for Plymouth. It is a long way away and it would be good if we could beat them with the help of a big crowd!

My point, which you seemingly agree with, is that Plymouth are an up and down yo-yo club. Yes they have enjoyed promotions, but they have endured a fair share of relegations. They are not traditionally a level two tier club. They should therefore get over the fact that they are playing us at a level where they are not alien to. Those that are, have probably jumped on a band waggon and might be getting off by the time we play them.... if we play them. They should worry about having a club in the Football League, not playing Football League Morecambe FC (and we are having a laugh).
