Interesting option to prevent loss of support

Interesting option to prevent loss of support

Postby Ned » Tue Apr 05, 2011 11:44 am

A couple of passionate MFC season ticket holders obviously angry at this season’s performances are threatening not to renew their season tickets if the team get relegated (no doubt there are others). Losing supporters and income would not be good news for the club, however the supporters have come up with a simple win/win compensation package that would enable them to watch next season’s home matches for free if the team were to be relegated. Bet365 were quoting the Shrimps at 40-1 for relegation, therefore if they bet £10 they will receive £410 if the team are relegated which would still leave them with about £100 spare after purchasing a new season ticket. Alternatively if the team stay’s up they will have lost just £10 which they would consider cheap at the price for retaining league status.

Fair enough. I've been known to bet against my side on occasion, to give me some consolation if they lose.

On this one, I would keep my tenner.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

If too many people put a tenner on the bookie'll think there's a bit of a fiddle going on.

A Spurs Fan has already done this:

"At which point does the money become more important than the result?" I'm still working on that one.

and the Bookies lost £1M when Weymouth Fans backed against themselves

Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think
