Set up by Taylor? Sounds like he's had an immediate impact?

First time we've scored more than one goal in a game for 16 matches! Let's hope we make it a habit now!

Time for a winner?

deserved a draw today, only time we loked dnagerous today was when we wnet to 4 3 3 and even more so 4 2 4,but mcann looks very lightweight at this level.Howe had a good game but o carroll also looks lightweight at this level
wqe are turning into the banker draw specialists, another hard earned point.
the noticeable thing about this division is that there does not appear to be one outstanding team in it.No one has given us the run around this season so far

Fair result as neither team really tested the goalkeepers.

First 15 minutes best football of the season. Why? Played it on the deck!

For some unknown reason when they went undeservably 2-1 up we reverted to the long ball up in the air, down the middle.

How many of these headers did we win? Very, very few.

But again our spirit, determination and effort got us through.

However once again our midfield failled to get into the box to offer support to the strikers.

Maybe one day soon we will dictate a game and come out convincing winners.

For me though there is still something missing. If Sammy is able to bring another loan player in, I just hope it's somebody who can provide a killer ball for our front lads.

Oh.... and for those who read CC about my transfer to Stanley, sorry to say that your wishes haven't come true. My pie eating agent refused the 'crust' that was on offer. ;) ;) ;)

have to agree about McCann and O'Carroll, I would include Parish as well.

but another hard earned point to make it seven games undefeated.

Taylor looked useful, and Curtis deserves a start.

Seems fair enough. Where I was standing we had the candidates as Artell , Bentley , Drummy and Stanners.

Arts and Jimbo did really well as neither Lester or Ward scored in open play and they don't come much better than those 2.

Our first goal though the result of poor defending came after a sustained period of quality passing on the floor with Stanners featuring well. Why oh why don't we keep on doing it, cos Chesterfield looked strong in the air from the off.

Glad to get the point but sloppy defending cost us once again.

Not a great game, though we did play well in the first twenty minutes or so. The game generally petered out the longer it went on partly due, I think, to the increasingly poor weather.

Curtis really needs to be brought on from the start. His effort and his ability to keep the ball is proving quite useful this season. Other than that not a lot of quality on show from either side and a point apiece is a fair outcome.

It's still impressive the way we never really give up on a game and managed to scrape a second goal when frankly it didn't look like coming.

Totally agree with m.o.m i thought artell had a great game.Free header at the back post, mccann gone missing again. Two of the best strikers in league two kept at bay well done the defence.I think the problem lies with midfield not getting forward enough to support the attack. Two one down and only one in the box.Great effort in very bad conditions.

Good job the linesman didn't spot Wayne's foot a foot into play when he delivered the crucial throw in that led to the goal.

As always the officials took a bit of stick but I thought the ref today was excellent. Was it Neil Swarbrick? Prog said D Foster but I'm sure I recognised the guy in the middle. He talked to the players throughout the game and warned them before conflict arose. Apart from not booking Robertson for high studs on 2 occasions in the first half, he did very well.

The defence was sloppy today - their first goal could have been prevented if we bothered to mark their player. We gave them too much space and invited them to shoot, with us not pushing forward when we regained possesion. This also meant that our strikers were isolated and unable to receive any decent service or have anyone to pass to much of the time. Lester was only just stopped from breaking through on a couple of occasions, having skipped past most of the defence.

Having said that, we were magical at the start of the game. And I was quite pleased with Twissy.

About two minutes before the announcement, I said to the people around me "tell you what, Artell's had a great game today, hardly put a foot wrong".

I didn't expect him to get MoM because he just went about his job tidily and without a lot of fuss but he was very effective and I agreed with the award.
