Given the fixtures they have left I can't really see Barnet making up the 9 points - but stranger things have happened. I can see us picking up a further 7 points from the remaining games, wins against Burton & Hereford and a draw against Port Vale.

The sooner this season's over the better as far as I'm concerned.

The way we played today it's difficult to see where another win (point?) will come from. However everything at the club should be focused on beating Burton Albion. If we aren't watching their games someone needs shooting. Win that and we're safe. Lose it and we're back in the mire in a bad way.

I'm sure we're far too complacent... sorry... professional to need that suggesting to the management...

Don't think it's a good idea to target games and we really will be in the sh1t if we need to get something against Northampton.

I'd be targetting those games as they are around us a win against either and we SHOULD be ok.

So the home game against Hereford isn't a main game?? :o
Make that 3 main games at the Globe Arena where our safety could be assured.

Three games left at home, against three teams also literally fighting for their lives also ....

We're going to need EVERYBODY to get behind us me thinks. Three VERY difficult home games.

We still need 2 wins minimum....that would mean stockport and barnet winning 5 from 7 (but at moment cant see us winning 1 game never mind 2)

Winning 5 from 7 is title winning form, unlikely but not impossible. If Barnet did achieve it then their goal difference would almost certainly improve and probably be better than ours meaning we would have to get another 9 points to survive.

For the record, it's 5 wins out of 20 games this year, only 2 of those at home. With 7 games left, keeping up the same ratio, that's maximum 2 wins, and only expect 1 at home. Obviously I, like the rest of you, hope we improve significantly on that record, although three wins, if we could get them, would surely be enough, and 2 might do it, if they're against the right teams, especially if we get the odd draw as well.

Fingers, and everything else, crossed.

IMHO we need 4 points from 7 matches. 1 win and 1 draw.

that gives us 47

Barnet and Stockport could only get to 47 with 4 wins out of 7 (outright promotion form) or 3 wins 3 draws and a loss (play-off form)

Even if they did both get to 47 we would have to have some hidings for Barnet to edge us on goal difference and its inconceivable that Stockport could edge us on goal difference as theirs is minus 43 to our minus 14.

Is it just me, should we really be sat here working out the maths on each team winning here or there, from now to the end of the season?

People keep asking me if we'll survive and with each passing game I'm getting less and less optomistic and a little more concerned.

I believe this team will pull us through to play League football next season, but I don't want to go through another season like this next term. Open heart surgery required.

It's bad news when we have to keep an eye how all the teams around us are doing. Burton, Hereford & Northampton are in the same boat, and also our next three home games  . I think this season could go to the wire if we are not careful.
