Stanley...What has happened?!

I am just at a loss to understand why, in my opinion, our most energetic, passionate and frankly BEST player is currently helping another teams' promotion challenge. Stanners seems to have settled in perfectly at Torquay, his twitter is buzzing with Helen Chamberlain asking how long he's staying! He is making and scoring goals, and by all accounts getting good reprts after each game. Correct me if i am wrong but i think he has started and finished every game since he has been there??

Also his celebration after the goal on Sat, suggests he is very commited to the Torquay cause and enjoying his time there.

Personally this is just too much too much to take. After the reports coming out on here after tonight..why is Stanners excelling at another club in our league, when he should be the first name on our team sheet.

It seems clear we will lose him in the summer, he is playing well and seems well liked down south and deserves better than to be blamed and cast aside whenever we have a bad spell.

One of the best CMs in league two, and we seem to have pushed him away. :x

'WE seemed to have pushed him away'

One person has to my knowledge. Biggest joke of the season. Passionate about his football and the teams he plays for and a good bloke as well. Not the virtues that Sammy relishes in a player.

With Drummond suspended on Saturday and Fleming limping during last nights farce it would give Sammy the perfect excuse to recall Stanners.

I'm not holding my breath though.

Incredible to compare the attitude of Crap-Aldi, who doesn't give a monkeys if Morecambe FC even exists as long as he gets his gambling money, but we keep, with Stanners, who would sweat blood for Morecambe FC, who we get rid of?

He certainly won't find a replacement like him in a hurry and with Drummond getting slower and slower I fear for us next season.

I don't think Stanley is the answer to our problems by any stretch of the imagination. We were crap with him in the team too, most of the time. However, he is certainly not the worst CM at the club and therefore should be here. He always gives 100% and can inject a bit of life in to a game (when he wants to).

That said, he isn't here so its Hunter in for saturday please.

We didnt perform any better when Stanley was here, the only way he would perform any better if he came back is if he was given a roving position in central midfeld and told to cut the sideways action

Stanners certainly seems to have got his Mojo back at Torquay though.

Course he's going to play better......he's gone to a better team!
All he's done this season is a couple of good set pieces and run a lot.......Garry Hunter can run a lot!

Sorry Ezz I didn't realise you watched us alot this season? You are annoying me today, defending the club til the bitter end. Stanley is the best midfielder at the club, end of.

I've watched them more times than you think, just because I started standing with you a couple of weeks back doesn't mean thats when i began coming to games.....

I'm not defending the club to the bitter end, I just respond to stupid comments about club and manager when they are out of order. The lets get rid of Sammy comments and the 'I know better than Sammy because I post my comments and tactics AFTER watching the game' are just a joke, if not moronic.
I could respond to comments on here all day after a loss because thats when everyone comes out.

Stanley plays the same week in week out, he puts in lots of effort, a very good set piece delivery and some good tackles. He doesn't 'boss' any midfield, he doesn't create chance after chance, he's very replaceable. He's a good player, but mainly when the team is playing well. He disappears like everyone else, mainly this season when the team plays bad.

But your opnion counts higher because you've seen more minutes than me this year.

Not saying my opinion counts higher, just that you don't go to many games and don't have to suffer the drivel we watch week in week out.

You only ever seem to post having digs at the likes of Pobble and Marky, I agree, they are moronic fools, and like to piss people off with their forthright views.

You say Sammy has turned it around the last few weeks and took us to safety? Has he? We are still playing the same old crap football. We have won 3 out of the last ten games, where as previously we won 4 out of the previous 10 games.

Yep, he has really turned it around.

My point is Stanley is a player who can be replaced easier than others. We haven't been out of the bottom 8 all season, 3/4 of which Stanley has played most games. So he can't suddenly be our saviour because he's put in good performances for a team that are all round better on the pitch than we are right now.

Stanley has been here for about 5 years now, whilst he's had his good spells at the same time he goes missing like everyone else. I don't know the reason why he has gone, but if it because of discipline reasons towards the manager then Sammy has every right to ship him off. If it's because Sammy doesn't see him starting then again, why would he keep him?
I actually like Stanley as a player, I like his passion and think he's worth having for set pieces alone, but we've lost a big aerial threat in artell and bentley playing less so we are scoring less from good delivery. Fleming is more than adequate replacement for now, but in summer I'd expect to see a decent replacement come in.
As regards to Sammy, we were in freefall and everyone had the right to scared, but we've picked up points at Stanley, won at Chesterfield and a crucial win at Barnet. Obviously we'll never know but would that have happened with a new manager?

Sammy h, don't you think that it might be to your benefit to post something productive instead of winding everyone up? Quite frankly I think your forthright views, which sometimes aren't quite forthright enough to generally piss people off, so instead you're resorting to having digs at top (and not at all homosexual) blokes like Pobble.

I worry that one day your generally forthright views piss off important people at the club, people that just so happen to not be wearing a tie, such as Rod Taylor.

I think that if Craig Stanley was still here, we would be towards the top end of the bottom half. I also think that we have got some of our aerial ability back with McCready and Charnock, get Craig Stanley knocking the corners and free kicks in the box and you will get someone on the end of them.

We miss his passion, we miss his desire and we miss his set pieces, but like you say we will never know what will have happened. I actually think Mr Mcilroy will still be here this time next year.

Don't you have his tie? Has he bought another tie?
Is it as lovely as the last one?

Artell has turned out to be a major loss, he was a leader on the pitch as much as jimbo was. You never know, Stanley has been punished before and he's still here

I couldn't possibly comment, what is taken from the board room without permission and my whereabouts are completely unrelated. Let's just say I wouldn't be sad enough to steal peanuts.

Moronic? Says the person who who posts such inane crap as Yeah Wow, Mr. Plates and that random numbers thing? Seriously? I half agree with Ezz. Stanley is a good player and I'd rather he was here than helping Torquay in their quest to get to the play offs but he's been just a much a part of this awful season as anyone else. He wouldn't make the rest of our team play any better. He wouldn't suddenly make the manager an all-conquering managerial superhero. He is what he is. Someone who can be very good on his day and should still be here, but someone who is just as capable of having shockers as anyone else in our squad.

the mr plates/ numbers thing were directly connected and very funny, the yeahwow phenomenon was down to me, giving me legend status, anyway, back to stanley, anyone who thinks he is not badly missed is very deluded,he is now gone for good, i wish capaldi was loaned to wycombe before saturday, along with the loan keeper, they are both shit.
