"Gillingham Football Club has reportedly gone to the High Court in London seeking an order forcing the BBC to disclose the name, postal and email address of the individual with pseudonym of die_hard_gills.
The Football Club have started the legal battle with the BBC over an alleged racist comment posted on the broadcaster’s website. Officials at Priestfield want to sue the individual who accused the club of racism, but do not know his identity.
Despite requests by the Football Club, the BBC has chosen not to provide the information voluntarily, according to a High Court writ. This has forced the Club to turn to the High Court in London.
The Club says it has a valid claim for damages against whoever made the posting last December, but first needs to find out who to sue. There has been no official comment from Gills Chairman Paul Scally so far."
