This Sunday I will be attempting to run the Great North Run in aid of Luekaemia Research. If anyone has the chance to cheer encouragement at their TV sets then that'd be great - what would be even better is if you could spare a bit of cash and sponsor me.
There is a website -
www.justgiving.com/five_go_running - I appreciate times are hard at the moment but anything you donate will be greatfully received.
If I am in a fit enough state on Monday I'll let you know how it went!!
Thanks in advance
Matty

Things are certainly hard in CC's household at the mo, but best of luck and we'll give a donation to such a worthy fund.
You never know when an illness like this could come calling on a close member of your family.

No problem it's the same charity as me and Lloydie did it for last year.
Look out for the society of real ale handing pints of beer out at 9 miles.

Thanks very much to those that have pledged/promised to pledge. Am in newcastle acclimatizing(?) Hardest part has been not drinking - think this is the longest period of my life that I haven't had a drink - nearly a week!
For those that still want to sponsor - it's not too late - just clink on the link.
Thanks again
Matt

Done. You made great time, Matt. I did my first half-marathon (at the age of 50!) in Garstang a few weeks ago and clocked 1h55m, so you did better than me, and I'm full of admiration. Are you doing the Lancaster half-marathon on 9 November?
