Squad for next season

So
I think a lot of us just want this season to end now to be honest. Whoever is managing us next season, we will surely see changes in the summer. Big clearout perhaps?

Players out of contract this summer...

Andy Holdsworth
Chris Shuker
Neil Wainwright
Jimmy Spencer
Stewart Drummond
Kevan Hurst
Laurence Wilson
Stewart Hendrie
Paul Mullin
Andy Parrish
Gavin Clark
Nile Coperthwaite
Chris Wraighte
Tony Capaldi
Will Haining
Scott Brown
Danny Carlton
Laurie Walker

So quite a few there actually. Who do you sign up and who do you let go? Also, should we pay up the contract of anyone not on that list?

It's a bit unfair to say who should stay and who should go whilst there is still quite a way to go untill the end of the season and if we are under new management somebosy else will already have a few names they would like to bring in.

Is Parrish's really up this season? I thought he had another year. If that is the case, that needs extending asap. Personally, the only other player on that list I would be looking to renewing at the moment is Laurence Wilson. I'd like to sign Kevan Hurst and Jimmy Spencer but don't know how likely that is for either. I think some of the older players need to move on so we can bring in some younger players with energy and pace.

It's definitely going to be a summer of major change!

Sorry, just checked and Parrish does indeed have another year.

One other player I've forgotten about is Craig Stanley who I think is also out of contract this summer?

I am certain Parrish signed a 2 year contract in June 2010.

Wilson signed 2 years in june 2009 so his is up. But will he want to sign thought he was going to Preston

Andy Holdsworth - offer contract
Chris Shuker - release
Neil Wainwright - release
Jimmy Spencer - potential but only get if free
Stewart Drummond - release or keep as player-coach
Kevan Hurst - see how he does for the rest of this season
Laurence Wilson - imperative we get signed up ASAP
Stuart Hendrie - another with potential and kind of player we need so offer contract
Paul Mullin - release
Andy Parrish - offer 1 year extension to current deal
Gavin Clark - can't really comment
Nile Cowperthwaite - offer contract
Chris Wraighte - can't really comment
Tony Capaldi - release
Will Haining - something has gone wrong here so probably wouldn't stay even if asked to
Scott Brown - release
Danny Carlton - release
Laurie Walker - offer contract

As for those remaining, pay up the contracts of both Jevons and Rundle

I honestly believe it will all depend which league we are in.

Andy Holdsworth - offer contract
Chris Shuker - Wolud like to see play more but if that isn't going to happen: release
Neil Wainwright - release
Jimmy Spencer - release
Stewart Drummond - release
Kevan Hurst - Shown enough all ready, try and keep
Laurence Wilson - Keep
Stuart Hendrie - Would love to see more but guessing he will be released
Paul Mullin - pains me to say it but...release
Andy Parrish - Keep
Gavin Clark - Sammy's usual token gesture, all 3 released
Nile Cowperthwaite -
Chris Wraighte -
Tony Capaldi - release
Will Haining - i agreee with Marky's sentiments. Personally i would keep but something must have happened so unless under new management he will be released.
Scott Brown - release
Danny Carlton - release
Laurie Walker - could't say
Kieren Charnock- release
CRAIG STANLEY KEEP

Barry, Holdsworth, Parrish, Haining, Wilson, Rundle, Shuker, Fleming, Hunter, Stanley and Scott would be the ones i would keep on for next year. Jevons it looks like will be staying so we must find him a strike partner. Then we would need an experienced CB, a versatile defender (squad player), a midfielder, try and sign Kevan Hurst, two strikers (one would need to have some pace and strength about him) and a reserve GK (or resign Walker).

i don't think some people realise you obviously need a SQUAD of 22 players realistically to compete in all competitions for a full season

its not just about a good looking team of 11 players on paper

We have 28 players, half of whom are not good enough.

As reserve team captain, you've got to think Cowperthwaite stands a reasonable chance of being retained...
