We were gazumped!

Whatever issues I may have with our manager (and they are purely football related) then he has to be congratulated for seeking new players nationwide. This for me shows that as a Football League club we have come of age. No longer relying on the North West for our player pool.

The fact that we'd agreed a deal with Torquay for Wroe plus the trialists from Brentford and Chesham, shows that geographical location doesn't stop us from going after these players. It may be that OUR location doesn't suit them but at least we are trying to improve the squad irrespective of location.

As for Stanners, I suspect that he's played his last game for us. Somebody else can now have the joys of 'backwards and sideways' creativity......!

Gazumpted for Nicky Wroe yes and they are believed to have paid around £45,000 for his services.
Were we going to pay that much?

Is he worth that much?

When we were discussing his possible transfer from Torquay to us i wonder what was agreed about Stanleys move to Torquay as surely it is not just a coincidence that when we were gazumpted for Wroe by Shrewsbury, Robinson - Shrewsbury striker, signed for Torquay on loan (as Stanley also did)????

I know for a fact he would cross the road to avoid you and your self proclaimed soundbytes. He actually told me that if you spoke to him he would tell you to **** off.
