Mark in Lewis' cafe does have a certain ring to it I suppose.

try to avoid having the horizon running across the centre of the image. That creates a 'half & half' so the eye doesn't know where to sit. Also, moving the interesting point off centre creates a more interesting image. Imagine a 'noughts & crosses' grid on the viewfinder. Now compose the image so a point of interest is on a point where two lines cross (rule of thirds).

Ahem! I took it with a phone placed between one of around 24 very small window panes, so don't get fussy!
In other words the noughts & crosses grid was the window itself!
