Any chance of making this a regular thing Jim? There can't be many players who would have even gone this far, so Morecambe could be even more unique.

I would love that but I think sponsorship commitments to the local paper and the programme could make it counter productive.
Great idea but.

I'n still in awe at the humility and brilliance of Jims Post. 8-)

As an active member of the Sardines away travel I think I can say on behalf of all my mates we wish Jimbo all the best for his wedding later this month . This season has been an incredible journey of ups and downs from away at Burton in August through to Shrewsbury at the beginning of May.Long may he continue representing our team in whatever role!

Having read your post Jim, and the replies to it, you've clearly touched alot of peoples lives. It was a great gesture on behalf of yourself and the lads. Well done. What a great send off it was last night, i thought the fans were magnificent. Good luck for your wedding, and next season

Well done that man, there was absolutely no need to come on here to post an apology and dont think any other Captain in the country would have bothered to do so either. I know how dissappointed we all felt after Sunday players and fans alike and im sure most of us had the piss taken at work (Preston & Burnley fans didn't say much :D ), but im sure the humiliation would have been much worse for yourselves having to face family and friends and regroup for Thursday after being quietly confident we could overcome the Daggers after their perfomance at Chrstie recently. So to take the time and effort to come on here when im sure you had more important things to do deserves great respect and reading these previous posts it looks like you have got it.

Arise Sir Jim Bentley.

P.S. Just to show your appreciation for the fans and our appreciation for you. how about a
SHRIMPSVOICES STAG NIGHT :D :D :D

I certainly hope not.

But IF it was and he does become their manager then it's the start of a long and successful career 'on the other side' of the road. A road that will one day see him return to his adopted home by the sea.

How fantastic is it that the club captain comes onto a fans forum like that, a very special captain, I will always remember Jim after the final whistle when PNE had been dumped out of the league cup, surprised he didnt end up in the seats with us that night, I really think you should have ben able to play some part of our final game at CP,
best of luck for the forthcoming wedding Jim,
Graham
