Transfer rumours

Carlisle have signed Man Utd striker James Hugill on loan until the end of this season.

Goes to show how a new owner is prepared to put a sizeable amount of money into his club as this is the 5th new signing by the Dumbrians this close season.

DA has a wee amount of money to spend on funding new incomers but that is peanuts compared with almost every other club in EFL2.

Don't be surprised in Carlisle move out of the relegation battle before the beginning of March.

Looks as though we have to rely on players currently without a contract having been free agents since the start of the season.

If only we could get new owners with the same level of commitment as other clubs.....

Not every club has this level of commitment RR and if it doesn't work their owners may well stop splashing the cash.

They do seem to be splashing out at the moment however and they must have a sizeable squad by now. However, as you and others have said from time to time, throwing money at the problem doesn't always work. I wonder sometimes how these spending sprees get round the fair play rules. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Because Carlisle are releasing, terminating, loaning out and selling current players

Carlisle have signed a few players your right but they need to gel pretty much straight away

It's ok bringing players in to a club but they must be the right fit

8th signing of the window so far, basically ripping up the Paul Simpson model from the summer and giving Williamson his own team to play with.

Can’t fault their owners in terms of backing their manager.

Let’s hope they don’t gel together, but yes the owners backing the manager. It’s about staying in the league, is it the be all and end all?

Carlisle could probably buy their way out of the national League next season if they go down. Could you see us doing the same?

For me its survival this season and if as Derek says we are bring some more players in on loan let’s hope it’s the right calibre of player.

It is a much of a muchness of a league, not a lot in it in terms of capability, but a chasm if results don’t go your way. Let’s hope we do a Doncaster Rovers.

Doncaster always had the potential to rise up the league. Do we?

Yes we have the potential to rise up the League, but it will not be any where like Doncaster’s rise :(

I am though still quite positive we can finish out of the bottom 2, that’s the least we have to do, I’m hopefully we will finish 19th or above ;) ;)
