Brilliant, well done lads. Yes, Liam Gibson was class.

When was the last time we won 3 league matches in a row?

Fantastic for all Shrimps fans. Gibson was mom, only “Bamboozled” once, and we defended well as a team again, when necessary. Carry this forward, and we will be a very hard team to beat, by anybody in this lge 2. Bring em on. COYS.

if so, crowds like that then financially we'd be talking self-sufficient surly?

Another three points I thought we were thoroughly deserving of! Agree that Gibson was MOTM, showed some great touches and the skill, fight and pass he played for our third was superb.

Shoutouts to Kenyon and Wildig too who both had good games and got their goals! Crazy to think today we had Songo'o and Pringle on the bench with Diagouraga suspended and AJ injured/not making the squad.

Slight drawback for me was that we didn't take the initiative as much as I would have wanted when we got our third. They were rattled and Kewell was making super reckless substitutions. We could have done more to exploit the space left but sat off and made a few poor decisions, letting them get back into it and get a goal back. Maybe a few changes earlier as legs got tired, and maybe McAlinden on to exploit the space they were leaving as he's a smart mover.

On the balance of the game, though, I thought the scoreline flattered them a little. Another great win and top of the league!

Sat by the Radio Manchester reporter at the final whistle, his words were “Final score here Latics 2 Morecambe 3, but that score line flatters the Latics”.

Look a real threat going forward but no chance without a proper captain like Clarke or Wheater marshalling the back line, the 2ft replacement goalkeeper didn't instill confidence either,
Strongest team in the league..................Holding the rest up!

Steve Ayr? on radio Accy said we look a team trying to win matches now as opposed to trying not to lose them. Fancies us for a top ten finish, but he thought Oldham were very poor and have lots more problems tham we do.

Where do you start?
A terrible owner and yet another Yes man, manager for starters, might be better to starve the club of cash, get the owner out and drop 3 or 4 leagues down, start a fresh and restore some pride for the towns fans.
They can't go any lower as a league club, the only way is up from either position.

Great win. Very confident second half after a fairly flat first half. Derek said this is a game plan and John O'Sullivan mentioned that they had worked tremendously hard on fitness during pre-season. Perhaps the idea is to defend well first half and steam roller teams as they get tired second half? The score did flatter them in the end and if we'd have been more clinical the game would have been put to bed earlier.

We look so much more assured with Gibson and Cooney at full back. Gibson was terrific today. Him and Davies are defenders that love defending which isn't too fashionable in the modern game, but I love it.

Interesting that Derek has given faith to a few of Jim's players - Cole, Wildig and Sullivan - who could have easily been shipped out. They seem key players in his system now. I was delighted for Cole to get his goal. Despite his excellent work and performances every striker loves to score for their confidence. I'd still like us to get more balls into his feet and get Wildig, Phillips and Sullivan closer to him more often. We'll be more deadly when they link up even more.

One thing that really impressed me is we seem really calm on the break and take our time to pick the correct pass into positions that will hurt our opposition. We have players in Phillips and Cooney who have a lovely cross on them and we bust a gut to pack the box. Hopefully Mendes will be able to step up too soon, yet he doesn't sulk when things are not coming off and is tracking back superbly.

I would have been the first to swap Touma for Kenyon in the holding position, but Kenyon has been excellent to his credit. We have some quality players looking to get back in the team which is great for competition and to keep performances at a high level.

WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE :)

What odds would you have gotten for the top team being there with a minus goal difference and the bottom team having the highest goalscorer in the league? :?

Great start to the season, only a handful of teams have won 3 or more games and we're one of them.
Gibson deserved MOTM and Kenyon was close second for me. The thing that impressed me about todays team was the goals coming from different players, they were all up for having a go and gives depth to the team. Keep it going lads. :D

Three headers, from three different goal scorers, from three different crossers.

All three crosses were superb, with Cooney's being the best of the three in my opinion, made even better as he's a defender. Cole's was probably the best goal though. Agreed, we could/should have gone for the jugular and really killed Oldham off, but weirdly satisfying that they scored late on, to leave us top of the league with a negative goal difference, something I doubt has happened before?

I was very surprised they didn't manage more than 2 goals in the second half, Coles eyes must have lit up when the 3ft keeper appeared and I said to my son it could easily be 5 or even 7 here with the quality of crosses coming in and the shocking defending.
