Which is exactly my concern. If fans can't view the game being played, then not much point. If the building owner either charge an excessive rent or offer to move the Trust again... each time, its value decreasing...

But I'm sure no need to worry, what with owners whose only interest is to make a profit...

So how did that work out then?

My understanding is that the main areas of the ground (pitch, stands, access roads and some of the carpark etc) fall under Christie's trust. Buildings on it may be owned by MFC, but are pretty useless unless there is a football club.

If the worst happened, we folded and tumbled down the pyramid, whoever got their hands on the buildings could only make any money at all by selling or renting the buildings to whatever phoenix club rose from the ashes.

So, although in theory we could end up watching MFC from the touchline, it would be more than likely that the stands would stay open (or at least the PMG).

Yes Wild Bill, you are correct. And I'm not sure on the legal detail here but I am sure you could not be held hostage over assets built on land that you own once that lease agreement has ended. I would imagine that once the leasehold interest ends, the Club would have so long to remove their possessions otherwise they are abandoned and revert to the Trust.

If you look at the greed of the liquidators over the building in the corner of the ground, there is concern, but there again if the Christie Trust threatened to increase any ground rent to whoever owned the buildings, perhaps a deal could be done. After all, the Trust is their effectively to protect the football club, so such actions I would suggest would not be unreasonable. :?:
