Morecambe 0 Newcastle 7 LIVE thread

Christ this is painful. Derek’s worst ever defeat as a manager was Cambridge United, well that record won’t last long.

Agree with a lot of comments. We’re completely out of sorts but that was Saturday too. Hendrie terrible on the 3rd and lost up the pitch on other Newcastle attacks; no closing down for a few of their goals; and no fight in the team.

Some great goals from Newcastle though.

It's scary but not unexpected against a team of that strength

Derek's record defeat as a manager was 5-0 once before, which he equaled on Saturday. Wonder what his new record will be?

It says it all when one of their strikers is worth more than our entire club

We wouldn't be in the league cup if Jim had still been in charge.

Ian Lyon's punditry has been top notch.

We have to take a lot on the chin as Morecambe fans but I don’t think I’ve ever actually felt ashamed of my team before tonight. I feel really let down by these players. Biggest game in years where there should be no need for motivation and we put in a totally gutless performance.

never expected us to win this match.

just disappointed we rested key players last Saturday in the 0 - 5 league defeat for this match.

Bruce is under pressure, the fans want him out so there was no way he was going to risk losing this game.

Newcastle United these must be the best team we have ever played?

better than the last Newcastle side and Wolves, Blackpool, Preston etc etc lineups we've faced in the past.
