When the street was finally reopened the customers had found alternatives.
From what I remember, the shops didn't actually want "traffic calming" and better pavements etc. They knew people went there in cars because they could park easily and freely. [b]Council just couldn't help themselves because they wanted their slice of the pie by restricting parking and hoping to cash in from pay & display car parking and parking fines etc. [/b]
Add to that the stupidly long time it took the council to do the work like you say.

but could be a new player in the squad this afternoon when I froze the video taken from the team bus picking up the squad on their way to Bradford. The 'new' lad has short cropped ginger hair and is at the back of the que boarding the team bus....
