Certainly looks like the shape of a pitch, went passed today and they appeared to be putting another layer on top.

I wonder if they are building up this part with a different type of material if it is where the pitch will be.

(picture bottom right)

is that a gorilla or a baboon?

Good job the WWF were unaware of the rich variety of fauna on Westgate or we'd never have got past the planning application stage.

No, its just one of those escaped black panthers you hear about all the time

When I was a kid, I always wanted a 'big' Tonka toy.....

Marvellous to see what a couple of the real thing can do in just a few days.

Also, the entrance foyer to the stadium looks impressive.

Its further on than that now isnt it?

I am off today. If I get chance I will pop down today and take some latest shots and pop them up here so the exiles and anyone not able to get down can keep up to date.

Unless anyone else has got some very recent ones that we can all see?

I took some a week ago and passed them on to Brian.

I'll e-mail them to you Mark.

Plenty more photos to appear yet. I thought I would need time playing with the upload process but it was easy enough to get on with it straight away. Working away in Bristol and not having all my site photos with me, I could only upload what I had with me. Saturday will see more photos appearing and then there will be regular updates.

Doesn't that include a tagged on Hotel development as well?

Ours will be circa £6 million with additional site developments being funded by the individual businesses concened I would assume. ie Hotel, Fast Food Diner etc etc etc.

Whatever budgets were set, we won't know the true cost until it's finished. In this crunch time I am sure Sainsbury's will have negotiated a "cheaper" deal than first expected

I would have thought £10M for everything when its completed, including feeding the primates

.....just as I would have expected us to negotiate a 'cheaper' deal with the Building Contractors. Everything is negotiable these days...except expenses!!!!!!

Drove past at the weekend, its really come on over the last few months. Look through the pics from the administrator here:

http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=74

It appears from the sign that Oystons are leasing the area around the stadium (as we will be). The area around the North Stand is projected to look like this when complete

Brian Fagan was on the Radio this morning confirming that the Westgate completion date is 5th July even allowing for some bad weather.

Any up to date photos of the current position regarding our new stadium?

The last time I passed they were just about starting the entry road kerbing. Unfortunately I didn't have my Box Brownie with me, otherwise I would have gone on my knees to ask Gnasher to upload onto SVs. :( :( :(

The only thing that has changed since the last set of photos is the new access road from Westgate. At the moment it's completely surrounded by fencing and all there is in place are gravel foundations and kerbstones. Next weekend should see enough development to be worth a visit with a camera.

I'm sure the exiles along with myself and others will look forward to the pics. Cheers Brian. :)
