How on earth are Crewe second? They struggled to break us down for most of the game. One chance and they took it. With the chances that we created if we had a goal scoring striker, we should have been way out in front. A spirited effort in the final few minutes, but the lack of a goal scorer is going to get us relegated. Listened to the away commentary and I have to say that they were probably one of the most biased that I have heard. They seemed to think they had a divine right to win, and until the goal went in they blamed the poor pitch, the referee, anything but their players.

Otherwise, the only reason would be that Derek didn't feel we needed him until recently?

this is what i have asked on other topics, and its been said the FA Cup money we don’t get straight away?

But Derek said in one of his interviews that he was being given some of the FA cup money.......mind you he didn't say when he was being given it.:roll: We've released 2 and brought 2 freebies in so Derek should still have a decent amount for a strikers wages.

1-0 because we have not got anyone who can score a goal.

Why is Adam Lewis on the bench, the number of crises in the last 15 minutes, but yet again no one can get a shot, header or bundle it over the line.

Somebody from Notts Forest on loan arriving I’ve heard.

Daylight bloody robbery.

Doubt if many noticed this but their bench instructed their goalkeeper to go down and stay down when we had the momentum.

Another instance where the ref was conned by play acting.

About time we learned the dark arts as so many teams?we play have mastered the technique.

It's exactly what our Goalkeeper did in an away game a bit a go and got booked for time wasting.

Seems to be an accepted technique nowadays when a team is under the pump they can stop proceedings by the keeper lying prostrate and bringing the physio on. Marechal hadn't been involved in anything to pick up an injury immediately before going down but went down like he'd been shot. All the Crewe players then rushed to the bench for a coaching session and a reset. Not one of them was concerned about the keeper because they knew full well there was rock all wrong with him! This took the sting out of our play, mission accomplished. Not one of the Morecambe players complained at the time and they all seemed to shake his hand after the game ended. Cheating but seemingly accepted cheating. :?

I was just watching Arsenal v Villa and Martinez just held the ball in his hands for like 20s every time it came to him. Seems like keepers are just allowed to eat up time for as long as they want.

On the new players- Derek said that it would be 2 loan signings now so surely we don't need a lot of budget for that. Remember at the start of last season when Derek somehow managed to get

* Michael Mellon
* Tom Bloxham
* Eli King
* James Connolly

...all on loan. Absolutely incredibly business in hindsight. I'm forever hopeful that he can recreate that magic. I guess it's much harder in January but there must be a few Championship clubs with a young striker that needs minutes which they would be absolutely guaranteed to get with us. Must help that Liverpool are obviously happy with what we're doing with Rhys Williams as well.

Should have won today. The pitch is awful and didn’t help either team but my word Crewe were a poor side. I’m shocked they are second - they might be the worst team I’ve seen this season. Very adept at the dark arts too.

We should have scored at least 3 today but we just can’t score. There’s no doubt we need this new striker to come in but I’m a bit worried that we are pinning all our hopes on one player - who will be a bargain basement loan signing - to come in and save our season. Other existing players in the team are going to have to step up and start scoring.

We played well today (taking the pitch into account) but I’m fed up of us ending up on the wrong side of results. We must start winning soon or we are down.

Pitch was terrible but Wonder if that is a?result of cutting the grass so short. It certainly looks?as though the mowers have been set too low.

Deserved something from that but done by a Sub again.
Pitch, particularly in front of the main stand, is awful

Can't blame the ref, he couldn't do anything about it, other than add time on at the end.

He could have warned, then booked him for holding the ball for 20+ seconds every time he got it.

Played really well for me, made Crewe look ordinary for the whole game. The goal was so soft and is down to one player switching off which is so annoying because everybody put a shift in. Jones isn't good enough but he also doesn't work hard enough. Crewe made high quality subs which once again proved the difference. Enough chances to win that easily.

I reckon Derek has asked for a pitch like that

Thought we played really well as we have in most games the difference is up front we have no striker dackers and hope are waste of time
Think we should play Ben through the middle

Agree with Keith that the ref should have booked their keeper for his p!ss taking time wasting. It was blatantly obvious that he was going to carry on doing it unless he got booked. No hate for the Crewe keeper - I’d be happy if we did it, but the referee failed to get a grip on the situation.

I also agree with BW that Jones hasn’t done enough this season to be in our starting 11. Him and McAdam have disappointed me and Cooke needs to take that attacking midfield place immediately.
