Wish him well...Just hope he isn't the playing difference between us getting relegated and Accy staying in EFL2 due to any goals he may score

Liverpool have recalled 3 youngster that have been out on loan so that we have kept Williams is a plus for us, he has had plenty of game time.
One of the players who Liverpool is Kaide Gordon who has been out on loan at Norwich City he has played nine games and scored one goal.
He played against us the other year when we played Liverpools U21s, he’s an attacking winger/ midfielder.
He had a good game especially the first half.
Maybe something to explore?
The other two recalled players are a goalie and a right back who both had very little game time.

This is what DA is up against in trying to recruit a striker.

Just goes to show what an investor in Carlisle is prepared to spend to stave off relegation. And as for the bid of £150,000 by new boys Bromley......how the hell can we compete with such an offer for a 27 year old striker who I did highlight a few weeks ago as being a potential target for our club......silly old fool...

We are also getting a windfall circa £500,000 from chelsea we too should invest some in a good striker.

Most of our Chelsea money will be going towards running the club on a daily basis

Bromley probably have an owner who cares about the club and it's fans ..sadly we dont

At the forum it was said they will use the money from an injection of funds just before, if any of the money from cup competitions including the upcoming FA Cup game against Chelsea, we will have to wait and see.

I would think from what was said at the forum is the money from them will also be used to help run the Club.

It may well keep the losses Morecambe FC are currently massing from going higher than manageable level.

There is no way our Current BOD’s are going to let debt run away with its self when the high level of income Morecambe will get from this weekends FA Cup game. In financial terms it’s a God send.

So if we don't invest in a quality striker we get relegated and still have debts.

I suspect Derek won't want a couple of players coming in on silly money and upsetting the squad either

That our Club is run at the level it is, is nothing short of miraculous with the money the BOD’s have to run the Club as a whole, it’s not just a player budget.

Of course with more input from the owner it would ease things but there is no guarantees in these things and as I have said any debts are not disastrously high, they are manageable. As for quality strikers I don’t know what we can afford!!

Yes it’s apparent to everyone at this Club realises we need to find a goal scorer. So say we invest around £16,000 per month in a new striker, is that a guarantee that any new striker will be quality? That sort of money on a 6 month contract till the end of the season will cost the Club £104,000.

I don’t even know what the going rate would be for a quality striker in League Two nowadays, but it would soon eat up all the money we get from Chelsea if we invested that amount in players and then the question is will we even get our hands on that before the transfer window closes?

We have money off Momi for the January window and that has to help bring in 3 players at least and I think that budget may have to be spread between the 3, we will see.

The top and bottom of it is, Let’s hope we get a goal scorer, and we stay in League Two because though we will more than likely have debts at the end of the season.

Anybody know what the monthly wage for a league two player is?

On those figures our strikers on £3-5,000 a month and Bradford City maybe on £12-16,000 per month

So does that make Bradford City’s players quality?

Year after year we compete as a team against all the others and against the odds.

We ARE NOT going to get a proven goal scorer so just get use to it. Every club wants one and every club has more financial clout. We have always been up against it financially and always will be because we will never get the fan base of Bradford, Vale etc because we a small town football club punching above our weight. Derek however has a nack of unearthing little gems like Kieran Phillips who has gone on to be a consistent goal scorer. This is what I am hoping for, another young gun on loan who Derek sees potential in & can turn into another goal scorer on a regular basis. We can’t put all our eggs into one basket tho, we needs goals from all over the park and sadly we need them quick. I’m not sure we are going to survive the drop, I do hope we do but it’ll be a miracle if we do but don’t under estimate that Derek is the best man for the job on the budget we have available. I can’t think of a better manager with the budget restraints but it won’t be pretty football, it might be poor scraping stuff but it’s time to roll up those sleeves & do what is needed

The players we have will play a big part in our survival, looking back we have only been blown away a handful of times. That they realise the task and fight for Morecambe FC. I don’t know what it is (us being minnows punching above our weight!) but after 10-15 yrs of going to the occasional match every season (I went 20miles down the road), financially restraints dictated I had to cut my cloth. So this is my 5th year as a season ticket holder and the Club has got under my skin.

Even though I can now afford to go back down the road, the Club has become like an itch you are living with., that I would gladly continue itching. I want it to stay with EfL status and this is the biggest test in those 5 seasons. ( going down from League One had the League two safety net). What players we can bring in over the January window to help those we already have is massive, but it’s to the end of the story.

We don’t want a mercenary, only here for the money, we need hunger and fight as well as ability, don’t underestimate a players mentality. We saw it when we were in league one at certain points in those two seasons, the fight was not there. While the other team may have a bigger budget, better players on paper, if they don’t turn up a hard working team can always do something on the day. Morecambe has to be that sort of team in the second half of the season, (probably why some teams at the bottom have won a few games lately, as well as us) and that’s not making the task any easier.

So no it’s not going to be easy, there will be ups and downs, it could well go to the last game of the season! Every game is a cup tie now, not just Sat.

For me we are in this position mainly because of the intransigence of our owner, everything that has happened is through his ownership issues. (think of the wages situation, I personally think it affected the management and players last year, we fell off because of that and the rebound dream of going back up to League One was pie in the sky).

I want some fight as well as new recruits and we need too support Derek and our players in the fight for survival, we all have a part to play.

I had hoped he'd be coming back to us, to continue development somewhere that he knows, and could hit the ground running and be guaranteed first choice. Bradford will offer more competition and if he doesn't slot straight in, he may find himself bench warming rather than playing. I suppose, Burnley may want a bigger contribution, especially if they expect to release him at the end of the season anyway.

Gate receipt from the FA Cup game against Chelsea should be split 45% to each Club and the FA get 10%, that’s after costs. Chelsea holds only just over 40,000 but even so we should get a fair amount. It’s being estimated at least around £400K.

If I heard right at the Forum that money goes to the Club, Jason does not get his hands on it. So firstly it’s about how fast Morecambe FC get their hands on their share and then what they use it for.

To help us stay up and if the money comes through before the January transfer window shuts, surely some of the money should be released to Derek, to add to the kitty he has already been given.

I think a lot of our fans would like Derek being given a handsome amount to play with in his dealings (offering competitive deals), in bringing in some fresh players to the squad. It could be the difference between staying in the EFL and dropping down to the National League.

I don’t think he will get to bringing anyone in for a bit and I think at least two will have to be youngsters, so let’s hope Derek can get a couple of diamonds.
