Someone I met on Saturday after the match had a theory that Momi would have a better chance f buying Morecambe FC if they were in the National League as they rules surrounding Chang of ownership would make it easier for him to pass the Test’s that at the moment he doesn’t seem to be able to do.

If you go to the
Nation League website:- ‘thenationalleague.org.uk’ and click on the pdf box download ‘National League Rules 2024-25 season’ you will get all the information concerning their rules.

Go to Appendix R on page 122 and you get to the paragraphs entitled ‘Acquisition Materials’ this gives a list of 21 items (non-exhaustive), of items the National League Board deems reasonable to request from prospective buyers pretty much as you would expect, really.

I Cannot find a list like on the EFL website so I don’t know if the process is easier or not, as my man said it could be.

I would expect it to be along the same lines (maybe more in-depth), as it’s It’s pretty much the information needed to see if someone is fit and proper to be an Owner of a football club and Momi seems not to be able to pass the relevant information on.

At last I have found the EFL rules, you can compare the EFL rules to the above NL rules by going to page 242 of the EFL rules Section 6 Appendix 3A ‘Acquisition Materials’ .

Basically to my untrained eye they are the same rules for a prospective owner to take over a Club.

Complete waste of time it seems.

I know this might be a silly question

But does anyone know if the sale of the club is any closer than it was last week or the week before

We keep getting told it's further down the line but since the statement from Mr Momi it's gone quiet again

Just like Jason then! Do we want more of the same? Where is the engagement with fans?

I wonder if Jason can be persuaded to look at new offers, ANYBODY OUT THERE, PLEASE??

It's not weekly Keith but we have the opportunity to ask questions of the Board via the Shrimps Trust regular meeting with them! That is one of the reasons for the existence of the Trust.

I just think that from a communication perspective, having a 'Thursday Afternoon Update' (or whenever) would give a focus.

Just read on Shrimps Trust update,(first of 2025), that through the latest update from the EFL given to Shrimps Trust, that more papers relating to the take over, were submitted to the EFL before Christmas and they are currently being assessed.

Tyson Fury has today announced his retirement from boxing (again!).

Maybe his thoughts will turn to buying Morecambe FC?

Tyson as sole owner may not be ideal but might be better than the recent clowns and as part of a syndicate might be acceptable. However, I agree it's not going to happen.

Jason seems reluctant to even consider a bid from anyone who has no connection with is Bond Group otherwise why does he constantly knock back those who are prepared to pay over market value.

From the press release recently issued by the proposed ne owner it states that he intends to place two nominated Bond Group people to out BoDs so if that happens we will still have to accept that Jason will still be involved in some capacity.

Do Bond Group even properly exist? Like is it an active company with staff that does anything other than stick it's name to the ownership of our club?

It’s NOW the 14th of January!! I wonder how the EFL is getting on sorting through the new papers that where submitted for the Momi bid, I am still so sceptical that it will all end soon.

I suspect that Jason is so tied up financially with the proposed purchasers that he can't accept other offers even if they are reasonable. As for Bond Group......Jason IS Bond Group!

If we go down in flames I just hope that Jason goes down as well.

Another 'it's not going to happen' but I'd welcome Tyson buying the club, then leaving the existing Board to run it. As an extension of his Netflix family documentary, it could be entertaining, and at least we know he has the cash. With the USA 'discovering' football, he could actually do quite well out of it, get the Netflix going, then sell a substantial amount to US investors.

But, we're stuck with Jason Whittingham and whatever cronies he wants to play with. Momi made his only public statement on 30th November, and then only after being 'outed'. Nothing in the following six weeks or so. Momi & Whittingham didn't even make a comment about the Chelsea game. If Momi's intention was to raise his/his companies profile in India, then surely he'd have been all over this? That he didn't make any comments suggests that the sale is still not happening, and self-promotion isn't the motivation.

I'm sure he's got things tied up in such a manner that if we go down, he'll survive.

The only crumb is, anyone thinking of doing business with him in the future will just need to 'Google' him to find out what a twat he is.

When Bond group took us over JW was head of Mayfair finance but this has like many other of his companies has recently folded/desolved but bare in mind some are just figure heads/titles to move his corrupt money about. Sooner he’s gone the better

Who else is losing their passion for the club?
This club isn't the one that got me hooked on in the early 90s. I continually go to games but I don't feel part of something special anymore.
Jason has ripped the heart out of the club.
Fans are arguing with each other and (my opinion) the board have created an us and them situation with the fans. The truth is we've lost our identity.

I think that every former non league club that joins the so called bigger boys looses part maybe even all of its identity.

We've certainly lost ours to some extent but is that partially due to the new supporters joining our family over the years..... :?: :?: :?:
