I seem to remember Blackpool fans were very disparaging about the last Blackpool reject that we signed!
Tom Barkhuizen did pretty well for us :D

Recent report said Blackpool has 8 of the 10 most deprived areas in the UK in it. Not therefore necessarily down to the people, but the environment they grow up in.

Good shout!

Also Sammy Lavelle at the last Q&A night, somebody asked the players their ideal move(realistically) and Sam Lavelle did say Blackpool! with coming from there!

So makes you wonder if we are talking about a 2 way deal?

Like the west end of Morecambe? when I was a kid it was one of the best parts of town and it had the best shopping street in this town, what's changed?

My dad used to be part of the family that owned Whitwams Furniture Store at the top end of Yorkshire Street and on many lunch times we used to head down to Cravens to have one of their famed Meat and Potato pies with peas and gravy. Mmmmm....wummy.... :?: :?: :?:

What a pity that the street is now no longer what it used to be. Just a shame that the Council appear not to have applied for regional funding to improve the street as have other towns with success.

The town has gone to rack and ruin because it's been hocked out to undesirables, it's a beautiful town, always has been but spoilt by the people of a certain disposition and not the environment they grow up in.
They made it that way!

Matty Blinkhorn wasn't rated at Blackpool and without his goals in 2007, we would probably never have reached the FL.

One of the reasons they are building it in Morecambe and it is likely to get the final go ahead in the next budget is , and this won't be popular with the usual suspects, David Morris M.P. He has lobbied the Chancellor and he has lobbied Jake Berry Northern Powerhouse minister at every opportunity to get this project off the ground along with others it has to be said. He put the same effort in to get George Osborne to find £128 million for the Bay Gateway and fortunately the silent majority gave him over 50% of the votes cast in the recent General Election in recognition of his work. He is not everyone's cup of tea but could end up as Morecambe's most effective M.P.

Have to agree with that. Some people don't like him because he doesn't sit in Asda on Sundays listening to OAP's woes (like Geraldine did). But he's been effective at getting the big stuff on the move. I'd say the big stuff is far more important that sympathising with Mrs Jones and her pavement weeds complaint.

Here's a transfer rumour.

Ryan Taylor 6 ft 2 centre forward who we used to come across when at Rotherham. Now at Plymouth.

Ryan is currently out injured with a foot injury. Bradford had a bid rejected for him in the summer. Would be an unreal signing for us, dropping from regular league 2 footy to a relegation battle.

Yorkshire streets demise was actually partly because it was closed to traffic for nearly a year with massive disruption whilst a shed load of money was spent actually improving it!!

When the street was finally reopened the customers had found alternatives.

Happy New Year everybody.

Wonder ifthe transfer windows is about to kick off for our club. Could be an interesting few days and weeks ahead.

My eyesight isn't that good this morning :o but could be a new player in the squad this afternoon when I froze the video taken from the team bus picking up the squad on their way to Bradford. The 'new' lad has short cropped ginger hair and is at the back of the que boarding the team bus.... :?: :?: :?:

From what I remember, the shops didn't actually want "traffic calming" and better pavements etc. They knew people went there in cars because they could park easily and freely. Council just couldn't help themselves because they wanted their slice of the pie by restricting parking and hoping to cash in from pay & display car parking and parking fines etc.

Add to that the stupidly long time it took the council to do the work like you say.
