Quite clearly you are intent on making this personal. I refuse to join in a petty slanging match.

Enjoy your brief foray.

Would just like to point out that as you quite rightly said we have a very good reputation as being friendly fans.

Maybe you ought to take a step back, and wonder why we react to yourselves.

Could it be that a number of your fans are overly aggressive and the arrogant way your board goes about it's "business"?

Maybe we are just jealous of your big club, with it's massive gates, and far superior history.

Who knows :?:

Im sorry, but the fact that you guys are now saying that because of our free season ticket offer... half of our tickets arn't even used?

I think you need to go and sit in a small dark room with your laptop and research....

You may find that the free season ticket offer never went ahead and that the 12'000 we get at the games DO turn up. If the free season ticket offer had gone ahead, our attendances would be around 20'000.

Thats football fella. You may call us arrogant, I would call it something different. Mainly pissed off, because we have seen higher football, and we know that we have the squad capable of playing at a higher division. They just wont be consistant.

Its hard to believe that we have fallen so far in so little time. But, if we can fall this far, then we can climb back up.

id certainly agree with you and i do think you will make the playoffs
a top half finsih for us would be a great achievement in our second season
a point tomorrow would be great three points a tremendous way to end 2008

Same here. I dont see anyteam in this league as "easy". Because i know Bradford City. We Could hammer top of the league, then lose to the bottom. Its just too unpredictable. Aslong as i see a decent game of football i'll be happy. Iv got plenty more years infront of me to watch my team achieve. Why rush?

Phoenix wrote:But then again is it not about averages, the fact we have 12,000 regular visitors to VP, and possible even more stay aways that like to be cyber warriors surely means that there are more numpties about.

But you don't have 12,000 regular visitors to VP. What is announced is not the figure goinjg through the turnstiles. At our game last year you announced 5,000 more than went through the turnstiles because of the season ticket counting. That's 5,000 that didn't turn up.

Now, im not one to often question someone's knowledge on our ground but if the so-called reported figure was 8,000 and maybe you're probably correct in saying this then how come the bottom tier of the Sunwin stand is always full to the max and it holds just under 5,000. 'What's you point', I hear you say. Well my point is our Kop holds 7,500 and the Midland road stand holds 4,500, now if their was a reported 8,000 in the stadium that day that would mean their was just over 600 fans in both the Kop and Midland road because the rest of that figure was made up by 400 or so away fans in the Bfd End. Now I don't have amazing powers that enable me to count each and everyone in our football stadium on matchdays with my very own naked eye but when we've averaged 8,200+ for the past 15 years or so im sure I and others know when their's 8,000 or less in our football stadium. If you like you could revert the question, answer me this please if you will. On the day we played you did their look more than 17,136 empty seats because I dont think so.

I know where you're coming from and I know why you're coming to these conclusions, it's because with our 3 stands being so big and all 3 of 'em combined hold just under 19,000 alone you can't judge exactly how many are their. I think their's 700 or so in the little hudle we have in the Sunwin upper which is only open for the McCall suite but that's another matter all together, anways, you'll see tomorrow. ;)

Heres some pics your gaff took, judge for yourself how many you think are in the stands.

http://www.morecambefc.premiumtv.co.uk/ ... 74,00.html

Oh and just one last matter, why are you all complaining about our ticket prices when from what I remember....

Notts County
Rochdale
Luton £22
Gillingham
Rotherham all charge £20 or more and then you've got your Lincolns, Brentfords, Grimsbys, Maccs ect ect who all charge between £18 - £19. Now im not saying I condone these prices but it's stupid when people complain about our ticket prices when theirs around 10 clubs or so in our league alone who charge exectly the same price. You're only having a right good whinge because we're the only one's who issue an amazing ST offer and charge the same in that shortlist i've just posted. When you played Luton last week, their wasen't half the people complaining. Why, may I ask, We're charging the same arn't we?

Anyways, have a safe journey down and i'll say it now, we're going to get stuffed by you tomorrow. It's got Cup final on your part written all over it and Sammy Mac hates us with a passion.

I have no knowledge of your ground. Your calculations are quite amazing however I rely on something told to me, on the day, by someone that spent most of the game in the control room where every turn of a turnstile is monitored.

I know where you're coming from and I know why you're coming to these conclusions,

No conclusion, just simple maths and hopefully some honesty from a Bradford person.

Heres some pics your gaff took, judge for yourself how many you think are in the stands.

350 might be poor to you, but that represents around 17% of our average home attendance.

1699 Bratfud fans going to Lincoln represents around 13% of your 12,794 average. (Source: http://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/atten ... jsp?comp=4 )

Therefore, pro rata, in terms of size of club and average home attendance we would, statistically, have a better away following than Bratfud. And if we take more than 350, well the %age is obviously higher isn't it?

As MarkS said.....my dad is bigger than your dad.

Come on chaps, who actually cares how many people are in the ground? To me this is turning into a rather tiresome boring thread.

Lets hope for a good game tomorrow with the best team winning.....and if that isn't Morecambe lets hope the shrimps Dick Turpin it ;)

So let me get this straight, instead of supporting and watching your team, you decided to go knock on the window to the left of the Bfd End end to ask for the official attendance figure. C'mon buddy, you're not fooling anyone here.

Why's is a funny reply lad? Because perhaps it backs up what i've previously stated to a tee? Anybody can see theirs more than 8,000 people in the stadium just by taking a deek at them pics. Why would I lie, im honestly not that sad but it's clear you have some sort obsession on our crowds because I seem to remember you carrying on about it not so long ago, pathetic if you ask me. Like UB40 says above, give it a rest mate because it's getting boring lad but you know me, if you so wish to carry it on, im here all day. ;)

Well that's very clever. Im glad you've something to hold onto their and right you are, I bet your very proud yourself. :?

Just as an example, 10 teams in the championship last season averaged more than 20,000+ a game and all but 2 averaged more 2,000 away from home, that's less than 10% of their home figures. Now if teams who're consistently successful like the one's i've just stated fail to take more 10% of their home gates away with them what chance do we have in league 2 after 3 relegations, 2 administrations 6-7 sacked managers along the way in a total of 7-8 years. Look at it how you want mate, we average just under 13,000 at home and our average away following is 986 - Their amazing figures for league 1 and above nevermind this tinpot league.

Actually, a pitch-side conversation with a Bradford copper who commented to me about the announced figure and how many came through the turnstiles. I wish he'd never bothered now.

Well he should talk more sence then eh? He sounds like a very bitter, jelous little boy who can't bring himself to say a good word about our club, or maybe it's just me.

It's just you. I think you'll find I was one of the few that had good words to say about your ground and stewards last season. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and courteous even escorting me to the highest of the stands to take some photos.
