Well that makes less than 1200 home fans for a Bank Holiday fixture. Really worrying but at least decent win. Hopefully crowds will pick up if we keep scoring and winning games.

Poor home numbers, vocally non existent until we went 2-1 up and decided actually we are all supporting the same team. Shame that most of those who create the atmosphere have been banned from the ground. Overzealous stewarding not helping matters, God help them if they actually encountered any real football hooliganism.

Think we will play better than today and lose, but given the suspensions and injuries sustained, it is a fantastic result. All very well taken goals.

I was next to the away end and opposite the away seating, didn't look more than 150 in the seating.

Again, we didn't play especially well yet we won. But it makes up for the times we play well and lose so I feel we deserve this. Great to score a hatfull of goals, feels like ages since we've done that at home. Well done lads.

Bollocks. The 'stern warning' time was a couple of seasons ago. When I arrived at Hartlepool I was told they had extra stewards on and were being particularly strict on where our fans could go "because we've been warned about your trouble-makers". This 'warning' about a club that used to have a fantastic reputation for being trouble free and friendly wherever we went.

They had their chance to 'grow up' and behave but they've chosen not to. I hope their banning orders are for a very long time, football and Morecambe in particular, doesn't need them.

They had a defender, number 32, who was the worst professional footballer I have ever seen...the last time they visited Morecambe. Judging by one of their fans outside the Flyer before the game, they think the same - the shirt had the number 32 on the back, with the lettering 'R Sol Campbell'.

It's certainly not a lack of entertainment that's keeping the fans away.

The numbers have been reducing for a few seasons as fans have drifted away, arguably due to the poor match day experience. Looking at the on-screen match booking pages and also the blank stickers on the seats, it's clear that a sizeable number of season ticket holders didn't renew this summer - that's very worrying!

It will take a while for the previous regulars to start to come back, even if every game is entertaining - they'll have moved on to get into the habit of doing something else instead. Main thing is to stop the numbers declining further and then hopefully, the crowds will start to grow again. From the first few matches, the "on-pitch" part of the match day is looking brilliant, so when word starts to spread, we will hopefully see some familiar faces re-appear and some new faces.

Hopefully the new catering van is one of many new initiatives to improve the "off pitch" match day experience. The past is the past and we are where we are. We've got the management team and the players in place this season, so onwards and upwards. More good games than bad, and a better overall match day experience, and the crowds will start to improve again.
