Jimbo's after 6 new players for the coming season.

Wonder if that includes the 3 already signed ( includes 1st year pros) plus another 3 or another 5... :?: :?: :?:

If another 5 then assuming that he gets who he wants or at least are his second choices then we could see a radically different team next season.

Interesting times ahead... :) :) :)

Sounds like Andy Wright could be signing for Southport.

Got a mate who's a Sandgrounder and he just messaged me asking what he's like.

Glad he's got fixed up. He did a decent job here filling in in several positions , even played as a striker against Torquay.

Always thought it'd be good to see them promoted. Maybe he can help them go some way to achieving that...

Any news on the rest of them ? Wouldn't surprise me to see Hughes or Amond sign for Stanley

Totally agree. Would be great to see Southport back in the FL even Barrow.... ;)

No doubt I'm not alone in wondering how Jimbo is going on with his squad building....it's all gone a bit quiet of late.

Lots of time yet. Most contracts run until July 1st. Jim should be keeping quiet if he's after someone whose contract is expiring.

So how did that work out then?

It's quite possible that Jim has already signed a player(s) already but no announcement until August.

This is to avoid paying them their July salary which if a player who has been released and not signed officially for another club , has to be paid by their previous club as a sort of month's pay in lieu of notice.

We did this when we signed Podge and Accrington had to pay him his July salary.

This is correct. Blackpool done it last season if you remember they only had like 14 players few days before the season started then signed about 6, keeping the costs down. Sad but true !
