Mcilroy gone sky sports

Waiting around on the balcony in the PMG stand after the game, he was sat upstairs just looking out over the stadium. Looked pretty solemn then, no matter anyone says about him and our performances this year he absolutely does care about this club and his and our squads performances.
If you've gone then thank you Sammy for bringing us into and sustaining us as a formidable football league club. I hope you don't remember our support as the dick heads booing on the last game, true morecambe legend!
Get over it ;)

Here sure did look a forlorn figure sat on the drinks box back end of the second half.

Gave the impression of "nothing more I can do here."

Was very sad to see Sammy in that state / frame of mind.

He's sat on that box quite a lot this season when we have gone behind and looked like that.

What got me was just before he sat down he was stood in the technical area and just seemed to be staring blankly out onto the pitch and he just looked lost and then went to sit down.

I second that, Ezz. Sammy is the best manager we have ever had and deserved so much more than he got from a large number of morons on saturday. Its a side to some Morecambe fans I hate and miles away from the support at Dagenham last year when we lost 6-0 - mind, those booing probably were not there.

Assuming its true, all the best Sammy! It won't be long before your back in work im sure.

Confirmed on the BBC too.

I would like to thank Sammy McIllroy for bringing League Football to Morecambe. I got the impression from the reports that Sammy had decided enough was enough and presumably, whether a new contract was offered or not, decided the time was right to go.

It is a shame it all ended on such a low note, but then, I suppose it generally does in football management?

Good luck to Sammy & Mark... Bradford calling?

So how did that work out then?
