If he'd been sent off, wouldn't the Sky TV summariser be on about it as well?

People will be wondering how we have gone from 3-0 up to 3-3 soon if they don't read SV ;)

Sky sports commentator has confirmed the red card; looks like the Press Association missed it which is why everyone else shows it wrong. Hopefully the FA will miss it too!

Great win! Just on my way back from the game. Shrewsbury were rubbish in the first half but improved quite alot in the second. Their defence was all at sea when they had to replace Sharps at the back. We looked like we were going to score from every corner after he went off. The first goal itself was a Danny Baker Xmas DVD special. I've no idea what their defender was trying to do when he headed it downwards into his own net with seemingly loads of time to deal with the situation....or even leave the ball alone as it was travelling away from goal.

Spencer was given a straight Red. I missed the actual incident but got the impression from Duffys remonstrating that he had reacted to being stamped on during an off the ball incident. If so that's violent conduct and a three match ban. He had played quite well up until then, we'll miss his running. Good again to see Duffy and Wilson on the flanks. Keep it up.

SEASIDE!!!

Amazing win today !! To be honest I thought today's game may have been a bridge too far, what with the Salop unbeaten at home again - how wrong I was !! Great result & back-to-back away wins too ! :D :D :D

Yep, agree with pretty much all of that - we played very well up until the sending off and from then on it was basically a 6-2-1 formation to try to keep them at bay.

A few observations:

Duffy terrorised Sadler at left back although he did waste possession often after beating his man, still better that than not getting a sniff.

Surprisingly little came down our left flank.

For me, Drummond was MOTM - very composed and sprayed the ball around like he had all the time in the world...

...in stark contrast to Stanley who for some reason kept trying little flicks up in the air with lots of spin on that noone could control.

Spencer also impressive until his red card for something I didn't see. He linked well with Shuker and Duffy, those three were tearing Shrewsbury a new bumhole. Once he went off, Mullin was always going to replace Shuker and from then on we had about 1.2% of the cutting edge we had before. I like Mullin, but a lone striker he ain't.

Parrish outstanding at right back.

The own goal was laughable - make sure you see it on the BBC website on monday.

Loved it!

The best we've played since we beat Shrewsbury! Absolutely battered them in the first half, we looked hungry for goals. First half you couldn't name a player who wasn't playing well. Duffy just about MotFH although Barry pulled off three great saves in the first 45 minutes.

Second half we started as we'd left off. Got a deserved penalty after more trickery from Duffy. Didn't someone recently say something about getting Duffy in the box with the ball at his feet because he'd get penalties??? :D

Shuker, Capaldi, McCready, Drummie, Wilson, Parish were all playing exceptionally well too, as was Spencer until he retaliated. Inexperience? youthful exuberance? a rush of blood? Well, a salutary lesson for him to learn. Took his goal nicely, lovely technique (if Sean doesn't use it in the programme I'll give up!)

After the sending off, game changed. As mentioned earlier, Mullin up front on his own while everyone else fought a rearguard action. The BBC will no doubt do as they did after we battered Port Vale and only show the comical own-goal, Spencer's and the penalty but then show every chance that Shrewsbury had, to make it look like a fluke but we really deserved the win. Because of his 'post sending off' performance and the three stops in the first half, Barry Roche was my Man of the Match but that really doesn't tell the whole story.

So how did that work out then?
