Sounds like a backs to the wall performance but isn't that what we are usually good at. Excellent result and much needed with other results going our way.

Next up Oldham. Another sterling effort required to get even a draw but we can do it.

Ive got that feeling with Paul Scholes(personality) great player at Man United & England but feel he could just be another Bobby Charlton, Bryan Robson going into management.

Although i can see Oldham and Scholes having an Honymoon Period.

 Definitely not. Yesterday, Pope was like a spoilt, mardy arsed child. Good to see, and all down to the job our defenders did on him, spoiling his ego party.
Great substitution, at the correct time, won us the game, not forgetting the brilliance of Mark Halstead. Collins came on, and was totally comfortable, from his very first touch of the ball. It just felt like when, rather than if we scored after that. Plenty of noise from 143 travelling fans, and a big celebration at the end, fantastic.
Well done to Jim, Ken, the lads, and supporters.
Bring on Tue.

Reading the Port Vale forum. Lots of their fans are upset with their new manager already (played two, lost two). Funny how changing managers hasn't immediately worked for them... who'd have thunked it?

One interesting comment...

"Careful what you wish for"... Hmm, quite.

Most of their fans think they are favourites to get relegated, even with a new manager.

Changing Manager now at this stage of the season would be insane.

Totally agree, I also think neither of the bottom 2 will go down, I think it will be Port Vale and Yeovil.

For me, there are only ever two "good" times to change a manager, at the end of the season or in December. That way you get a chance to change the personnel as well as the overall style of play and have a good chunk of time to do it. Now's just not the time.

We have Jim & Ken until the end of the season and we all collectively have one objective of staying in L2. I stand by my criticism of the management team, but for now the debate needs to be parked whilst we get on with ensuring we're playing league football next year. That's why I was at Vale yesterday and why I'll still try to get behind the lads as often as possible.

Onwards and upwards.
HOWAY THE SHRIMPS!!!!!

It was a good win Spud but had it not been for Halstead's brilliance in the first half and Collins intelligence when he came on we would have been battered . In fact for 75 mins we were , it was all one way traffic with no midfield and a defence all over the place , we were that narrow on a pitch that had been narrowed it looked like we were playing without any full-backs . Apart from Halstead the only outfield player who came off at half-time with any credibility in my eyes would be Mendes-Gomes . I really hope Sam is fit for Tuesday as his organising and calming of the back four was greatly missed.

No....too early in the season. Give it until November and let's see where we are then although I doubt that we can afford to even then ask JB to step aside.
