It's all too late we should have done this 12 months ago took the minus 10 and relegation hope someone picks us up at a cheaper price and start a fresh in the NL. Now if we go into admin in the NL and loose 10 points we are screwed and who knows where we will end up.

We should have been planning for the worst over 12 months ago.

The problem with that is, we were all hoping that we'd manage to avoid relegation from the Football League. If the fans had forced the situation, that then directly led to relegation, then what? Also, it's easy with hindsight, but a year ago, we thought a sale was imminent.

What's the bets that Jason blames the collapse of the Kuljeet Singh Momi deal on the fans?

There is a lot of should haves and could haves chucked about but did we as a fanbase do enough to back the 1920Union when they stepped up and started protesting?

That group were told not to do anything that could harm the club, people had them down as hooligans and troublemakers but in truth, they were the only fans taking any sort of action. If they were backed more when they began, we might have been further down the line now.

I posed this the other day and yes in hindsight should we the fans have done something like the NAPM protest even before the 1920 Union came into being, like when we were in League One.

If I remember rightly a number of different types of protest were banded about and yes I called for restraint as some of the protest mentioned would have damaged the Club, most likely through fines. I never had them down as hooligans and never said something doesn’t need doing to get rid of Whittingham, my thoughts has always been it has to be something that really does get rid of him and at the same time not harm the Club.

Having said that I have now come round that, (initially anyway) I will not renewing my season ticket. It is the first thing that can be done as a protest and see how Whittingham responds.

I am also thinking over, when next season starts, to maybe join the NAPM protest and not turn up to home games. That is an individual thing, there is no right or wrong, I still have that niggling feeling it may harm the Club to much, so I am undecided what to do on that one but there’s time.

It really now is all about what is done before next season to try and get Whittingham to jog on.

Turn up outside the ground on match day, on strike like a picket line.

It's what Blackpool fans did, and they beat the Oystens.

One effect it may well have is putting one Morecambe Fan against another and that’s not what should be happening. I hope if it happens it’s a stay away protest by those who wish to do it rather than a picket line, in the true sense of the word.

I will be continuing to go to home games for the rest of this season, after that as I have said I’ve reviewed what I’m going to do, starting with initially not renewing my season ticket and then take it from there.

That way I think I’m supporting the team and the Club, to show going down does not matter that much in the big scheme of things, (as bad and lamentable it will be). Then it’s all about doing something, however big or small, to get rid of Whittingham.

Me and my lad have thought long and hard about this. We've decided not to renew our season tickets this Summer, and not to attend any home games this season once we are mathematically relegated. We'll still go to away games to support whatever team we have. Our opinion is that we want to send a very strong message to Jason that we're not giving him a penny more, directly or indirectly. (Yes I know we may get a share of away game revenue but boycotting home games will hit him harder).

I applaud you and your lad because I know how much it's gonna hurt.
Me and my boy are doing the same. He's 14 now and I said to him that he could still get a season ticket as I didn't want to take something away that he loves but he said we are a team and we boycott together.

Do fans seriously expect the protest to have any effect on Whittingham..... :?: :?: :?:

To date he's treated us all with out and out contempt. So there is no way he will change his mind set.

I understand every bodies frustration and the need to do something but to withdraw ones financial support from our club is in my mind wrong. I realize that my attitude to this will annoy some but to withdraw our financial support will put increased pressure on our current BoDs to make up the loss of revenue which surely is not what our club needs at the current time.,,, :?: :?: :?:

I just hope that whatever actions as individuals we take that we will remain fans of MFC going forward and that there is no hostility between those for NAPM and those with a similar mindset to myself.

On another thread you are suggesting asking Whittingham to fund some hand rails because he is a nice guy?

Jason is an out and out first rate 'tosser' who doesn't give stuff about the fans and my suggestion about him contributing to some safety handrails was my feeble attempt at sarcasm ended by stating that 'pigs may fly knowing full well that he hasn't and wouldn't assist in such a worthwhile cause being more than happy for some demented reason to see the end of our club.....after all he has history in doing exactly the same elsewhere.

Sorry if my post(s) annoy you.....   maybe time for this old fool to step back and not post anymore on this subject.....

Nobody is annoyed by your posts and you have every right to continue to post your thoughts. We all know your views on the issue and that is fine. Other people may support the boycott though and they may want to discuss it without being reminded of your stance after every post.

I have just been reading on Companies House web page that Jason is the sole director of The Bond Group Investment Limited’s (Morecambe’s Owner, aka Jason Whittingham) and on Company’s House it states their Accounts are Overdue!!
Due by 28th February 2025.

In 2021 and 2023 the Registrar of Companies issued a First Gazette notice against The Bond Group, giving them 2 months notice unless cause is shown to the contrary, the company will be struck off and dissolved. Both times the Bond Group quickly responded and did show cause that they should not be struck off and both compulsory strike off actions were discontinued.

From that we will probably find if another First Gazette is issued against the company, they will do as they have done before and show the wind up of the company should be dissolved.

The issue is that it shows the type of Business man he is to a lay person, riding on the edge!

It is also quite possible that it is perfectly ok to continually run your company like that, perhaps someone with better knowledge can put me right.

Those (including myself) when are you taking part in NAPM? From next season? Or when our relegation is confirmed?

If you’re a season ticket holder this season and relegation is confirmed before the end of all our home games, you will just be staying away, the Club/he’s already got your gate money. If you buy a beer or pop or chips or a pie, I suppose you’re keeping money in your pocket so it’s up to the individual.

My thought is as I have already put, show the Club and the team we are turning up, like we have done this season for them, we have been patient and loyal to the Club and the team. If we do indeed go down then we, as fans, we stayed for the Club.

Then next season if you join the NAPM protest you’re doing it to try and get rid of Whittingham and that I have come to see is because it’s an action seen as the last straw, born out of loyalty to the Club and the hope it gets rid of Whittingham.

We will see what pans out and what I do or don’t do.

For those supporting the NAPM campaign its worth noting that the club shop is run by Terrace, who pay rent to the club each month. The club will be receiving the rent anyway so we can still show our support for Terrace, who have produced some excellent stuff this season.

Also please support the stuff organised by the community foundation, in fact if you are boycotting home games why not go to one of their events as a show of support?

Not a Penny More campaign will definitely put pressure on Whittingham, if he potentailly will lose his asset. Hopefully, it will make him motivated to actually sell.

Protests outside the ground demonstrate that the fan base remains. Hopefully, any prospective buyer will see that the fan base is larger than just those who attend matches.

redrobo wrote:...to withdraw ones financial support from our club is in my mind wrong... ...to withdraw our financial support will put increased pressure on our current BoDs to make up the loss of revenue which surely is not what our club needs at the current time.,,, :?: :?: :?:

If our current Board of Directors fund the club, knowing they are prolonging the situation, without any hope of ever getting money back, then they are daft, they may as well simply funnel more money into Whittingham's bank account. Personally, if I was a Director, no matter how much I loved the club, possibly even, because I loved the club, I'd resign and join the protest.

So, RedRobo, I know you've been asked before, but what do you suggest we do? Other than what we did before we were relegated from League One, and what we're doing ahead of relegation from League Two, what would be different prior to our relegation to National League North?

How do you see this ending, if fans do nothing? I'd genuinely LOVE to have an alternative, so let's have it. If we're relegated from National League, with the parasite still in place, we're gone completely, as the income wouldn't cover the interest on the debt and fixed costs of the ground. The cost of switching the floodlights on is the same in National League North in front of 500 fans, as if we were in the Championship. in front of 5,000.

I think it’s been posted before that because of poor funding from Whittingham since he put the Club up for sale, part of the end game is we fall in a downward spiral.
Whittingham was hoping to get his inflated price for the Club and if not the Club loses money drops down the leagues and ends with the Club going into administration, which may not particularly harm him personally.

WELL WE ARE WELL AND TRULY ON THAT PATH ARN’T WE.

What will trigger us going into administration will be unpaid bills to HMRC, or someone who has loaned the Club a substantial amount of money and with them wanting it back, then because it is a large sum of money that cannot be paid back, proceedings against the Club are filed.

How far are we from that, I would think a bit on that, until maybe, you factor in the NAPM protest is well, if well supported you would think things would then come to a conclusion quicker. The other thing is I think we will lose fans because we are no longer in the EFL and away fans in the main will bring less support, remember we have dropped from about 5,000 to about 3,500 on average home gates.

If all that comes to pass the possibility of ending up in the Northern Premier League is a real worry.

WE CAN THOUGH RELY ON MOMI TO FINALLY BUY THE CLUB AND FUND IT AT A PROPER LEVEL, CARN’T WE!!

Does anyone have any faith in this Momi fella? I get the sentiment that anyone would be better than Jason but it could be an out of the frying pan and into the fire situation. Not heard a peep out of him since his somewhat encouraging but questionably timed statement in November.
