O/T The Curry Leaf Restaurant

Has anybody been to or got feed back from anybody they know who has been?

I've got some clients staying at The Midland for a few days and I'm thinking of taking them 'for a night out in Morecambe' and thought about starters at The Curry Leaf.

Failing that it's Saffron....again!

Crown hotel (or whatever they call it now) does nice meals and if you want to impress them with quantity, try the Blue Mountain. Even I decided I should have just had a main course and they do a range of unique lagers.

Crown hotel is called Pebbles, I've just been told. Alfredo's has been around for a while so can't be that bad and I'm sure the staff will bring football into the discussions

I would say Alfredos, not a big fan of the blue mountain.

Curry Leaf is pretty good for morecambe, its no sultan but the foods alryt. =]

its a good meal in the Curry leaf friendly and helpfull staff and Cobra lager on draught well worth a visit same people that have Masala on Heysham road

I've been to the Curry Leaf twice - once with the family and once with a mate. I thought it was excellent - certainly as good as the Saffron.

I went last night and had a very nice meal, chana chick pea starter, king prawn Goa in their shells, vege rice and roti washed down with a pint of Cobra and a mango lassi. The beer is expensive though, think it was 3.25 for Cobra. It was just about full, lively atmosphere.

We use their other restaurant 'Masala' being a 5 minute walk from home and we've always found it to be excellent, top food and great service but like others I made my pint of Cobra last to the death after seeing the £3-25 price tag.
Haven't bought any since and now opt for a jug of Mango Lassi instead which compliments the meal better and serves more diners
The other place mentioned 'Saffron' on Skipton Street is owned by the same people who have that well established curry house in the west end 'Morecambe Tandoori' with the latter being my favourite until Masala came along, seems we're being spoilt for choice thesedays in Morecambe
I still remember the very first Indian restaurant in these parts 'Royale Bengale' it was situated on the corner across the road from Wright & Lord solicitors, now that's going back a few years

Morrisons cafe do a very reasonably priced double egg & chips or there's the all day breakfast.

That could catch on....Stuff yourself before the match and then fall asleep during the match.

I'm not sure that's a good idea given the speed at which that stuff goes through you
might be best to warn the groundstaff before hand then they can get extra bog roll supplies in to stem the flow

Neil - try booking a table at the York - although we arent what everyone would call a proper restaurant our food is top notch, home cooked and value for money - oh yes, there will be lots of MFC talk as well!! Or are we not upmarket enough
