I agree 100% away at Oxford in the cup.

I remember us getting undressed on the minibus an wringing our clothes out of the windows.
It was as if we had been stood in the shower fully dressed!

I also remember being at Barrow for a league match and the centre circle was like a swimming pool when the players came out for the second half. We were waiting for the players to put on their flippers. Some years ago in the Unibond I think, but can't remember exactly when.

Yes, it was like playing on a beach with the amount of sand put on the pitch after the flooding!
Do you also remember the fireworks being lit on the top railway embankment?

That Barrow away day quagmire would be Boxing Day in the Promotion winning season of 1994/95 then. We wore those bloody hideous green shirts that day as I recall.

I recall a picture of Cainy in The Visitor of the match charging through the mud and grime !!

And who of course remembers only last January and Bury at home in the JPT ??!!!

Thunder and lightning and the rain was lashing down that much it wasn't coming down sideways it was going upwards !!!

And the sight of Big Jim running for that stray ball in The Car Wash side and giving one finger to the North Stand who were jeering him will stay with me for ages ! ! ! !

The JPT was very wet last year. But the one that sticks in the memory is away at Accy about four years ago. No roof, raining sideways, wet through (literally) and the ref was rubbish. Then got shoehorned into a car with friends after the game to come home. Four grown men gently steaming the car up, drenched. Very very wet.

Northwich Victoria at home in 2000/01.

Match abandoned either just before or at half time. Think we were 1-0 up through Dave McKearney if I remember rightly.

AND ... I think it was only September ! ! ! !

Oxford for definite! Soaked to the bone in next to no time, freezing cold on the way back until I began drying out. And we should have won, which would have been a real 'giant killing' if we had. Now, if they beat us it would be a cup upset!

Darlington was the wettest
Northwich became the wettest (lakes formed before our very eyes)
The wettest I've been was at Oxford (very uncomfortable coach trip home)
I remember the cup match at Chesterfield was touch and go; it lashed it down all the way there.

Funniest game I've been to was Lancaster v Wukkington on a dark October night 3 seasons ago.
Dollies keeper sent off in the 1st minute.
Tony Sullivan comes off the bench and goes between the sticks.
His first touch is to pick the ball out of the net after the penalty.
15 minutes later Sullivan hoofed at a clearance, and the ball bobbled over his foot and into the net.
Two more goals followed, making it 0-4 at half-time.
Then the floodlights went off, never to come back on again.
The Wukkie travelling faithful weren't very amused

Peed it down and I was stood on open terracing for the Exeter City versus Northampton Town Fourth Division fixture, 3rd April 1960.
