Same problem here as well.

Got thru to their web site and ticket office only open from 10.30am to 12.30pm so only a 2 hour window.

Will have to try and book in the morning.

Negative lateral flow test required for Chorley, wonder what Workington require?

LCC are requiring the test, presumably the Cumbrian authorities overseeing the Workington game don’t have the same opinion.

I hope that there is a decent turn out tonight as this will be the first time we will have to thank close up those remaining Wembley players for all they achieved last season.

It's also a chance to welcome our new management team and new players.

COYS..... :D

Thanks for clearing that up Shrimp Girl, thought it looked a bit odd.
Interestingly, How many players have we had over the years called A.Trialist?

Difficult to give an assessment of how individuals will fair in EFL1 but for me everybody played well but special mention must go to young academy lad Pye who despite being small in stature he impressed with a calm performance that promises well for his and our future.

SR must have spoken to Drummy and taken note. Something that has been lacking over the past seasons and good to see that an academy player is given some game time. Just hope that under SR that Drummy is more involved.

Of the new boys I thought latest signing Mensah looked a class act as did all the new central defenders but remember that Workington are 6 divisions below us so difficult to judge.

The Blackpool game will be the game to pass judgement but as a work out the game provided some game time for the entire squad other than Cooney who was absent probably through a training injury?

The lad from Rangers looks a useful addition as did the winger from Bolton.

One thing for sure on this display is that SR has built a squad in such a short period that he will have difficulty in naming his strongest team for the season opener at Ipswich.

So an excellent work out against a hard working Workington team who didn't shirk from putting in a couple of meaty tackles.

:) :) :)

It’s easier to say the one that didn’t stand out. We played two completely different elevens in both halves.
Andresson
Mellor OConnor Delaney Gibson
Jones McCalmont Wildig
Gnahoua Stockton McPake
Of that starting 11, for us only really Gnohoua didn’t show much.
Jokull did well when called upon, Gibson was his usual solid self and got forward well, Delaney and Oconnor actually looked very composed on the ball and Kelvin was handy as per.
Wildig was his busy self knitting it all together, Jones looked very positive and moved the ball well, McCalmont oozed class and breezed passed players from in the hole well.
Cole was as always a threat and held up play well, McPake was quick and very lively but Gnohoua was the one who looked a bit slow and didn’t use the ball very well.

Second half
Letheren
academy lad Lavelle Mensah Leigh
McLoughlin Price Toums
McDonald Obika Trialist

Little full back was a great little player, got forward a couple of times and looked very good.
Sam and Mensah did well, Mensah looks a prospect at only 20. Leigh is an athlete, very quick and good in the air.
Toums dropped into the Songo’o role and was the Viera of the Bay, as we already know, Price played the McCalmont in the hole role very well, and McLoughlin was useful, used it very well.
MCdonald scored a beauty and got in behind on numerous occasions, and we changed tactics from Cole and used Obika on the shoulder of the last man, he was very agile, like lightning and had a good touch, scored one but could have had a couple more. These two looked the most effective against a tiring defender.
The trailiist, Fossop or Fossu or whoever, was a big unit, hit the post with a header (not Obika as reported) gave away the pen then scored from set piece.

So only Cooney we didn’t see, but he was there.

Hope that helps.

I can't believe we are only having 3 friendlies 2 of which against lower opposition, I fear that the lads won't be tested enough ahead of the Ipswich match.

We seemed to leave it late announcing the friendlies had we forgotten about it what with making the playoffs or is there a reason why we only want three?

They've had a few days training/friendly down in Worcester too, i just dont think they want the hassle of dealing with us fans at home until things have opened up a bit more, hopefully! :?

Good question.

I always assumed that pre season games where arranged before the closure of the previous season by the manager at that time.

Maybe with Adams knowing he was leaving come what may he didn't attache much importance to pre season 2021.

Possibly some behind closed door games will be arranged but am concerned about the lack of competitive game time.

Delighted to see that we played it from the back last night and not a single hoof up field by either goalkeepers. Wonder if that is the way we intend to play in EFL1...hope so :!:

Another Trialist replaced full back Leigh in the 70th minute. No idea who he was and no names mentioned to date.
