Pre-season training update No3

Pre-season training update No3

Postby Christies Child » Tue Jul 08, 2008 2:57 pm

The squad spent the morning doing 200 metre running sessions at Salt Ayre with the emphasis being on completing each session within a time set by Mark. These were not sprints more a means of getting a rytham going that could be sustained over a set distance. As previous pre-season sessions this was more scientific than in other pre-seasons with great emphasis put into recuperation after each running session. Once again Fraser excelled which was good to see.

Lunch was at the ground followed by work with the ball both as individuals and in a training game that featured the guys split into 3 teams with 2 v 1 on a rotating basis.

A couple of players were continuing their seperate programmes under the watchful eye of Dave Edge, otherwise everybody else was involved including a couple of trialists. One a former Chester / Wrexham central defender and the other a
Blackpool forward who wants to secure first team football on a regular basis elsewhere. He spoke highly of the sessions to date and certainly seemed impressed with Mark and his methods.

Both goalkeepers received personal coaching from a specialist goalkeeping coach.

On a slightly sadder note, the Fraser Eagle driver who has looked after the team since FE got involved came to the ground to say his goodbyes to the squad. He's off to a new position in Birmingham but he left CP the proud owner of a Shrimps shirt, no doubt signed by the squad.

Is there any confirmation that this is Phil Bolland?

CC would be able to confirm this.

Whether he will or not...

All I will say is that a former Wrexham player, rumoured to be on trial was not there today.

Accy have signed Paul Mullin's brother John from Tranmere.

Both bald , it could be interesting for defenders!

All this i know something you don't know stuff is pathetic, grow up CC.

Why mention it if you have no intention of saying who it is?

Because he is told not to?

Lay off!
Allot of people enjoy his training round-up.

It's not hard to work out who is down on trial, look at who people are guessing and then cross reference on other message boards.

Sorry, it is a bit rocket science isn't it. :sarcasm:

It will be Phil Bolland as Carvill hasn't been at Chester. Hopefully we don't sign him, he was solid enough in the Conference for Chester but his best days are behind him. If he isn't deemed good enough for Chester, and a poor relegated Wrexham side, then he isn't good enough for Morecambe (Never thought I'd say that!)

Because if names are given out other managers may try and hijack the possibility of us signing them.

And I'm sure managers trawl internet messageboards to ascertain who is on trial elsewhere....

I have read it.

At what point did i say i didn't enjoy your training round ups?

Just think it's a bit silly really, but i am sorry for voicing my opinion. I still think your a plonker

If it is Phil Bolland then great, always rated him at Chester.

I fail to understand all the secrecy when Phil Bolland's photo is in tonight's visitor training with the rest of our lads :?:

Time to put this to bed.

The reason I didn't name names was because I was asked not to by a club official.

Simple as that!

That must have been really upsetting for you after all the effort you put in at the Training ground......... :D

Hey, if Mark does get that job you'd be perfect, you've seen all his training sessions!!!
