O/T Sad loss of a former MFC Manager

It's with regret that the death of former MFC Manager, former Rovers player and England International Ronnie Clayton has been reported today.
Heroes get mentioned but Legends never die.

A sad loss indeed.

Actually made 600 appearances for Blackburn Rovers (not 500 as detailed below) and was part of England's 1958 World Cup Squad. I'm not old enough to remember him at Christie Park but always a sad day when we hear of one of our own passing away. RIP.

My Dad is from Blackburn and he grew up watching Ronnie Clayton week in week out and said what a fantastic player and captain he was. I don't remember him myself but the stories alone gave me an insight into the brilliance of the player. RIP
