o/t Lady Uddin and the $125K Expenses

Postby marky No.1 » Mon Oct 18, 2010 9:37 pm

Ok so how does somebody from Bangladesh become a Lady/Baroness in the UK? Let alone claim $125,000 in expenses for her brothers house?

Disgraceful!

A LABOUR peer who claimed expenses on weekend retreats while living in Wapping has been suspended from the House of Lords until next Easter...

...The committee recommended she be suspended from the upper chamber until the end of the parliamentary session in Easter 2012

It's strange 'cause I thought next Easter was 2011???

So how did that work out then?

No , the Coalition Government have altered the timing of the Queens speech from November to April so the Parliamentary session that started in May 2010 is nearly 2 years.

Welcome back Dave. Hope the visit to the smoke was an eye opener. I thought you might have mentioned that the 125K could have been better spent on a striker!!

Thing is as well that these figures banded about are tax free! For ordinary folk they would have to earn at least double these amounts to get the equivalent in hand :x

Neighbours were fine it was the seagulls causing the trouble. Had to get the stewards out when they cannibalised the 2nd bin bag

Can see where Brighton get their nickname from ;)

If we had known the Uddins lived down there we could have asked if they had any spare change
