Just shows how lover leauge fans are far much more commited than someone who only supports a Premiership team.
Nope.
ALL it shows is how easy it is for a canny PR man to get his company's name in a newspaper by using a completely meaningless set of 'survey' results.
While 'more than 1,000' (ie probably 1,001) survey respondents may be enough to accurately gauge the habits or opinions of, say, residents in a community of 4,000 people about a local planning application, it is totally worthless as a measure of, what? several hundred thousand football fans.
Also, how were these fans contacted and which categories of 'fans' were they? Season-ticket holders? Random visitors to a Europcar website?
And how many of each club's fans responded?
For example - perhaps two Blackpool season-ticket holders and travel club members were the only respondents from that club, whereas 150 12 to 15-year-old Man U fans living in Norwich and Inverness made up their survey contingent.
Utterly worthless as a survey, neat bit of PR trickery for the company, though.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!
