Englands #1?

Englands #1?

Apparently from BBC news, Scott Loach has been called up to replace the injured Ben Foster.

Think a very good keeper, and well deserved. Just thinking if Joe Lewis will ever get a call up?

While pleased for Scott and having a Morecambe ex-player connection to England, I thought Joe was the better keeper and also considered him to really be 'ours' because of the difference in number of games played.

But sadly, it shows the lack of depth in English goalkeeping quality that we haven't got players from the Premiership as natural selections.

Oh for the days of a debate regarding Clemence or Shilton for England, with Corrigan as third choice & Phil Parks only getting one cap despite being a fantastic goalkeeper? An embarrassment of riches. *sigh* :(

So how did that work out then?
