Copyright and Trademark infringement

Postby Morecambe FC » Tue Jun 29, 2010 4:03 pm

It has come to our attention that a number of counterfeit products, namely lapel badges, bearing the new Morecambe FC crest are available to buy online through certain auction sites.

We are in the process of bringing the full wieght of copyright and trademark law against the companies and individuals selling this merchandise. This seems as good a time as any to remind all SV's users and Morecambe Football Club fans in general that the only place to buy genuine Morecambe FC merchandise is through the temporary office and shop on Victoria Street or online at www.morecambefcshop.co.uk

We will be utilising the benefits of certain auction sites in the very near future but it will be very obvious that when buying products through that system you are dealing directly with the Football Club.

The protection of our name and images were very much part of the process we went through when deciding to rebrand the Football Club. We are also very mindful of protecting you, the fans, against buying counterfeit and in most cases sub standard products.

Should anyone see products bearing our name or crest please email markd@morecambefc.com with any links or other information. We will endeavour to be vigilant but the odd things can slip through the net. Any information received will of course be treated in the strictest confidence.

The ebay seller has sold a pack of 3 badges with the new morecambe crest for six quid, he ius from preston and has similar unsold items at 3 quid each featuring various teams, any one of these teams could have him removed by reporting it to ebay, the buyer of the badges is from morecambe, she is called helen, there you go commercial dept.

I went to the sunday market 2 weeks ago.
A man had a stall selling football badges, he noticed that I had a Morecambe fc top on so called me over, he then pulled out a selection MFC badges and he had the new Badge for sale.
He was a Scouser.

Wonder if this post, now viewed by over 300 mfc fans, will actually generate sales for the cads :?:

They really are appalling quality :o

There is a report link under the sellers details for each listing. If we all used that and stated the goods breach the copyright & trademark belonging to Morecambe FC it may help the club ensure their removal altogether.

And on another note, when is the new Official Merchandise going to hit the shelves Mark ?

I'm kind of disappointed nothing is available yet for summer holidays and the like, whereas by the same token I fully understand there is so much going on at the club at the moment.

Would have been nice to have a T-shirt or the like with the new logo on ready for summer jaunts away ! ! !

Will be worth the wait though I am sure when the new gear is launched.
