Who's panicking? Very long way to go yet!

Postby Bryan » Fri Aug 29, 2008 10:46 am

Has everybody gone mad? It's not even September yet and folk are almost hysterical about our form (after three league games). Forest outplayed Sunderland the other night in the cup too and were unlucky not to win it in normal time.

Those that were at Wycombe and Bury will tell you we played really well. I think there's potential here but of course mistakes at the back and an unsettled midfield need sorting quickly.

Yet Howe looks class up front and even (this will please Jody) Matt of the Blinkers did ok last week! Not sure about Roache yet but he's better than Jalal! In truth it's all about confidence and Jimbo is right to say that the fans can play their part in getting that first win.

The idea is to consolidate this season and maybe a good FA Cup run will get everyone excited and who knows...we might even do better than last year. McIlroy is trying to build a team that is more resiliant and consistant. Ironically that is going to take time and a few dodgy results.

It's all about results yes but lets wait another month or two at least before raising too many eyebrows. When we got promoted we had a poor start. In fact apart from last season we nearly always start slowly.

If we are near the bottom of the pile in November then yes that's the time to rant. But as it is now lets get behind the club and continue to prove folk wrong (like Dagenham and Accy) and move forward.

I think people need to bear in mind also, that we have a tough start to the season and it won't get easier for a little while yet!

Wycombe, played three, won two, drawn one (us!).
Rotherham, played three, won three.
Bury, played three, won three.

25 points from their nine games played.

To come...

Dagenham & Redbridge, played three, won two, drawn one.
Shrewsbury, played three, won three.

16 points from their six games played.

Let's see how we get on when we play Grimsby, Barnet & Lincoln who currently have one point between them from their nine games played.

Even if we lose the next two, if we win three on the bounce we'll be happy again.

So how did that work out then?

People say you should make a judgement after 10 games. In which case, 17:00 on 11/10/08 is judgement day

Why has the Bradford fan been banned from this board?
all he said was that we are worse than Chester.
yet again mods with nothing to do.

Why shouldn't persistant trolls be banned? What exactly to they bring to the board?

The mods do a fine job, they give up their own time to make the board a better place for everyone, and put up with idiotic comments like yours as their reward.

Well done Einstein.

Have you read your own post there and realised the irony? Do you even know what irony means. Allowing for the Bradford trolls embarrassing posts in general, how can one possibly come to the conclusion that Morecambe are "Worse than Chester".

Read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_(Internet) and then realise that far from having nothing to do, the mods on this board are being pro active in stopping themselves from having to moderate infantile posts which are not borne out of reasonable argument, but simple abuse and inflamatory content which is ok in the junior special school where they are absent from, but on a board nothing to do with their team, why should our mods have to spend time firstly reading their shite, but having to make sure it's not illegal or offensive, which it generally is.

Well done mods.

Thank you to those who posted messages of support.

The real issue is that these people very quickly become boring. If the wind up was imaginative or interesting, then we'd write a post back. I'm happy enough to have a bit of an argument or debate. We've had fans from many other clubs who are able to post a put down and be witty, they have always been, and will continue to be welcome. People who repeatedly demonstrate that they have nothing to offer other than repeatedly trying to wind people up will usually get a second chance but not too many.

By the way, when I last looked, Chester were five places below us so the comment wasn't even accurate!

Lastly, in the time it's taken to explain this, I could have deleted double figures worth of troll comments, and that's the real reason why we just dump them!
