Paul Simpson sacked.

Paul Simpson sacked.

According to Radio Shropshire and BBC football he has just been removed from the managers post at Shrewsbury.

Bugger! With our record against his teams I was hoping for a point at least.

Have just tuned into Radio Shropshire for confirmation or whatever.

Confirmed that he's left.

Two ways to look at this. Either they'll be playing without any cares OR they'll be totally bemused.

End of the season...nothing to play for...just lost their manager...

Really don't want to get cocky but..................

We should be taking 3 points from this game.

So long as they don't appoint a long term replacement before the match tomorrow I think we should have a fairly winnable game on our hands.

And it's looking like we'll probably outnumber the Shrews fans!

I was thinking that this is a surprise remember Shrewsbury early in the season being excellent at Christie Park only Burton looked better this season.

We need to be careful

They have "nothing to play for" - if they win both there last 2 games and all other results go there way they can still make the playoffs!!

Really unlikely but we shouldnt underestimate

I dont think even 2 wins get the Shrews in due to the number of remaining fixtures between teams above them where someone must get the points.

Someone needs to tell them that then 'cos they still think its mathematically possible so they'll be going for it tomorrow before one of their biggest games of the season against local rivals Port Vale next week

Definitely can. This just demonstrates they can and isnt what I think will happen (definitely not what I want to happen.

Ignore top 3 promoted.
Rotherham - results dolnt matter end season on 72 minimum
Aldershot - beat Lincoln and us - end season on 75
Bury - loose to both Torquay and Northampton - end on 68
Port vale - loose to Bournemouth and Shrewsbury - end on 67
Morecambe - loose to both Shrewsbury and Aldershot (NO!!!!) - end on 67
Chesterfield - loose to Accrington and Bournemouth - end on 67
Northampton - loose to Bradford beat Bury - end on 69
Dagenham - loose to Hereford and Darlington - end on 66
Shrewsbury - beat us and Port Vale - end on 68

Shrewsbury have better goal difference than Bury already, they win both, Bury loose both - Shrewsbury in play offs on goal difference!!!

Not saying it will but it could - key point being they have something to play for.

Wouldn't surprise me if they target Coley to take over.

There'd be no compensation to pay as he hasn't signed a contract although one is said to have been in the stages of being drawn up since January.

As long as they stay clear of Sammy (again)....they can have who they like.

Peter Taylor has been confirmed as Bratford's new manager.
