i envy you, ive been looking at doing it myself for a while now, apparently it takes 4 days up 3 days down, and the view when you see the sunrise you can see the planet going in that round shape if you know what i mean

i use to go to the lake district a lot, ive done a lot of them peaks and coincidently i was working half way up helvellyn this week at a mountain rescue post near glenridding ullswater, and was tempted to walk to the top instead of work

yep! I've always wanted to do it and seeing the celebs doing it for comic relief last year made me realise that I was well capable, If Chris Moyles can get his arse up there then I certainly can!

Thats about right, the day you go for the summit, you get up at midnight and get to the top for around mid morning! 13-15 hours walking that day!! :o

Yeah, I believe you can quite clearly see the curvature of the earth ;)

I used to do a hell of a lot of walking in the lakes, it became a bit of an obsession, bagging as many of Wainwrights walks/peaks as I could. Helvellyn is one of my favourite, there's nothing quite like walking along striding edge.

Looks like the justgiving site that I linked to at the start of the thread is undergoing some maintenance at the moment. But in the mean time, here's a clip of my expedition being planned.

You still up for the team GNR as that only be a few weeks before?

Anyway if you fancy some training, Me, P/T Indie and some mates are climbing Scarfell Pike a week today if you fancy it?

Unfortunately I go on the 16th and the GNR is the 18th! I know my justgiving page says the 26th, but it's a miss type and I haven't worked out how to change it yet.

Count me in for Scafell Pike, which route are we doing?

Just added a few more events for my fundraising year in aid of CancerCare. :D

As well as the Kilimanjaro climb next Sept and The Edinburgh Marathon in May, I am now also doing the Lancaster half marathon next Sunday, the Trimpell 20 mile race next March, the Manchester 10km in May and the Cross bay half marathon in August! :?

With the BBC's childrens in need coming up, please remember this great local charity that helps many children with their battle against cancer.

Well, I completed the first of my challenges on Sunday Morning, running the Lancaster Half Marathon in a time of 1hr 43mins, 10 minutes faster than my Great North Run effort! :D

Next up is the Trimpell 20 mile race in march.

All of this is in aid of CancerCare and I would be extremely grateful if you could visit my just giving page and show your support with a donation. :D

Many thanks.

Paul.
