Somebody asked me on Saturday why there were Police swarming all over the Carnforth Inn the previous night. Posting it on here guarantees they will find out!

Apparently it was the real deal with strip search and rubber gloves!

Despite being born and brought up in Millhead, attending Carnforth High etc, and living in the area til I got married, only ever ONCE did I go into the Carny Inn.

And my god ....... that was enough. Never again we vowed. And stuck to it.

Well if i had the Nib on me doorstep i wouldn't go to Carny Inn either . I was other side of town so i only made it as far as Shovel.

Last time I went in the Carnforth Inn was to watch England play Brazil in the USA World Cup at 8 o'clock in the morning

we were coming back to Arnside from the piccies and Macky D's at Morecambe, we were held up by the police closing half of the road outside the Carny Inn, ie only letting one way traffic through, 3 police vans (large), loads of coppers and persons in handcuffs being escorted out of the pub , more exiting than the picture (up)
