attendance very disappointing especially after win against notts county
notts gate 3300,they bring 800 so 2500 ours
bradford 3100 they bring 1200 so ours 1900
where did the 600 go was it champions league or the campbell/sven factor or what

Very definitely the 'Sven' factor.
I had hoped they may have seen enough from the game itself to want to come back (and I do know of one first-timer who returned last night) but it seems she is a rarity.

Such is life.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

There were loads of people round us in the North Stand who'd never been to a Morecambe match against Notts County - they came to see the "project", Sven etc, rather than Morecambe.

Hopefully some will return, at least we made decent money out of the ones who won't.

Factor in Kids on a school night, people having childcare responsibilities, etc and Tuesday nights will always suffer. If it had been Bradford on Saturday, it would have eclipsed the Sven factor.

You may have a point but there are also a lot of others who do stuff on a Saturday but can get to midweek games - statistically are they usually (on average) less well attended?

Perhaps someone can tell us.

Just done some number crunching and of the six games we have played at home this season (inc. carlisle) there have been 3 saturday games and 3 week games and on average we have had a whole 96 more fans coming to games during the week than games on saturday, and if you put them all together then our average home attendance this season is 2,452

some completely useless information for you all :) :geek:

i think the champions league has quite an effect, there were some poor crowds last night across the leagues.liverpool fans and the odd arsenal fan will have seen a bit of rain in the air and stayed on the sofa.obviously the recession is also a factor.

A lack of young people!!!!!! It was like High School Musical on the North Stand. Groups of young teenagers strolling about (None watching the footie), must be all those free season tickets given out :o

would last night be the first time we've had back to back 3,000+ attendances for league matches at home?

So how did that work out then?

Thank you statto! :D

What chance of a 3,000+ on Saturday? Would that be a first, having three 3,000+ matches on the trot? How many are Shrewsbury likely to bring with them on a great run of form?

Its not the Shrews fans we need to worry about but the 600 so called home fans who only came to see Sven and Sol. :o . I think it could be a sell-out on Saurday Keith when everyone finds out that the Shrews new director of football , Kevin Keegan has just signed Alan Shearer in time to play Saturday ;)
