Can Lightening Strike Twice?

Can Lightening Strike Twice?

Postby Keith » Sun Aug 09, 2009 12:31 pm

So can lightening strike twice? Will Preston be 'well up for it' and looking for an emphatic revenge or nervous of falling to lower league neighbours for a second time? A nervy start to their campaign yesterday, relying on a 'fortuitous' penalty, six minutes in to time added on.

Playing some of the football we did yesterday, we could give them an interesting game, especially if we can avoid giving away a soft goal!

The head says, they will want revenge and batter us.
The heart says we will click together and play superbly against a team not wanting to be over committed to the League Cup.

Wish I was going

So how did that work out then?

I can see us giving north end a really tough game and after our good performance and the north end players who are away on international call ups you just never know

Can lightning strike twice?

Yes it can. According to NASA there is more chance than you think of striking more than twice!

Hopefully our win 2 seasons ago was'nt just a flash in the pan

Has Irvine let St.Ledger and Nolan go to the international game? Hope so, they are two of PNE's better players.
I just hope we don't get rolled over easily, and give them one hell of a game!!!! :D

PNE battered us at the start of the preseason last season Keith wasnt it 4 1 something like that

I think theyve already got that one out of their system

being so early in the season it should be a cracking game

The fact that we won there last time makes our task all the more difficult, Preston will be determined not to let it happen again, once was embarrassing for them but twice ?.

This is just the type of game that we the fans and the players just love, nobody expects us to win, so we can go there with absolutely no pressure, even if we get beat like we did at Sheffield Utd we will give them the same level of support as we did that night.

Lets just go there and ENJOY.

alright we will. ive nowt against your lot despite living round the corner from giant axe for 4 years[so i know all about id rather be a dolly than a shrimp]. there is no doubt however that by getting into the football league for the first time since 1881 north end land was punctured.. if we are both at home now our gate is down by 200. when you were in in the conference and we were both at home your gate was down by 500.

I belive the correct score was 3-0 ;) (but it was only a pointless friendly if we had wanted to we could have thrashed em ;) )
