So we withdrew our offer of a contract.....too bloody right as well!

As much as I liked Yates, no club can afford to have players dithering over signing a contract, even if it means we are still in the hunt for a replacement (?)

I seem to recall one or two individuals having a pop at Sammy for 'Getting rid' or 'releasing' him calling it a disgrace.

Puts a different perspective on events and maybe Sammy is due an apology?

Why? Yates provided this information, not Sammy (or anyone else at the club).

One or two are very quick to sound off without knowing all the facts. If in doubt, say nowt.

One or two are keen to use any excuse to have a go at Sammy.

One or two actually think that watching the team for 90 minutes every other week qualifies them as being better placed or having better judgement than an management team that works with them every day.

One or two just like to follow the crowd and jump on the latest bandwagon

Having said that....

One or two never get involved in discussions around comings or goings of players

One or two trust the manager implicitly to do his job diligently

One or two just shrug as they have seen it all before.

sounds like he might have still joined Port Vale even if there was a contract for him at the end of the season

He sounds very upbeat and optimistic. "Vale is far too big for this Division"! That statement could well come back and bite him :o Interesting that he thinks his fitness will be higher than previous seasons
